Da Hanoi/Cat Ba: Lan Ha-Ha Long Bay Gita in barca di un giorno intero

I really enjoyed this experience, but it fell short of what was advertised. A sunset cooking class was listed in the trip description (tbh, this was the clincher for me) and when our guide said ‘tour has come to an end, we’re heading back now’ I asked about the sunset cooking class and he looked at me in bewilderment! Not his fault or his company’s, but the company who sold the experience (BEKA travel)… I think they didn’t have enough people to run their own tour and I was slotted in on another company’s experience?! (which was similar but obviously different). This might also explain why I was a tad confused at times, having 3 different people message me with information/instructions on WhatsApp for this experience! I can’t speak highly enough of the different staff I came into contact with on the day. They run a very tight ship; a well oiled machine coordinating seamless transfers of people from boat to boat, boat to bus, bus to boat… I swapped groups a few times and always ended up in exactly the right spot. I was approached individually and given specific instructions which gave me peace of mind and the staff did many checks & headcounts which speaks to their safety protocols. Lan Ha Bay is stunning, the fishing village was really interesting, kayaking to the cave was fun & swimming time was fab. I got stung by a Fire Jellyfish and my guide rubbed lemon on it for about 5 mins - it was a painful sting and I have big red welts 24hrs later but I was happy with how I was cared for :) The day was massive; 5:40am pick-up & 9:15pm drop-off. I knew what I was in for and was completely happy with the transfer time from Hanoi - don’t complain about spending 6 hrs on a bus if you book Hanoi to Cat Ba; it is what it is. Bus is comfy, with AC & water provided. Overall, a great experience. I’d recommend to others BUT know there is no sunset cooking class!

We had the full day excursion of Ha Long bay which include picked up, cruise, kayaking, swim in the bay, lunch, visit fish farm and making (and eating) summer roll! Our guide Hana picked us up from our hotel in Cat Ba and met up with travellers from Hanoi and other parts of town. There are usually up to 25 people on the tour but on our trip there are only 8 of us which made it more intimate and enjoyable. Hana was very informative and very funny. During the whole trip, she tells us lots of history about the area and answer any questions we have. What I love about the trip is that fact that the operator knows when certain area are busy through out the day, we are able to miss most of the other cruises and able to have an area to ourselves all the day! We pretty much leaves every activity when another 2 or 3 cruisers are pulling up! All gears are provided like life jackets, wet bags (so you can carry your valuables and keep them dry while kayaking), and towels. You are able to get change and rinse off on the boat after swimming. End of the trip they are able to drop us back where we were picked up. All in all it's a very enjoyable day and well worth the money!

I did the 12-hour excursion and everything was perfectly organized. Hanna was amazing — super clear, on time, and had everything ready for us. The food was surprisingly great, and the bus and drivers were excellent and very comfortable. They picked us up and dropped us off exactly when they said they would. The only thing that could improve is the boat, which is a bit old, but the lady on board was very kind. I also loved that they didn’t stop anywhere to sell you things. Overall, I was really impressed with the service.

We had a brilliant day exploring Lan Ha Bay, our guid Hana was great and gave us lots of interesting information throughout the day. Having the different activities was so fun, I would 100% recommend this trip!

I had the best time!! Hana was amazing very knowledgeable funny witty and great at hosting with some of the best English i have heard from a tour guide. day was perfect length and well pace, never felt rushed. Staff was good and crowd was about 15 people! Overall reccomend

Hana has been such a great guide today. We really appreciate the detailed explanations she gave during the trip and that they did the tour in reverse order to not join all the other boats on the same route. Hana also spotted the monkeys, so awesome. The boat was nice and the food was good. The only minor thing was the weather, but that did not spoil the tour at all.

The whole experience was fantastic! What a natural wonder!Our tour guide, Hana, was amazing! She was there for us during the entire trip, answering our questions and making sure that everybody was happy. She also had deep knowledge about fish biology and she taught us mind blowing information during our stop at the fish farm. During our swimming stop, she made sure everyone was safe. Our son dived about 20 times from the upper deck and Hana cheered him and shot videos of him. Boy, was he proud! The food was delicious and the boat was very clean. The crew was very professional. We had a great time and we took some incredible pictures. Super value for money! Highly recommended. Thank you Beka travel!
