Interessante la visita alla Basilica di San Francesco con i suoi capolavori del primo Rinascimento di Giotto e Cimabue e alla Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli. Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli , Dopo la morte di San Francesco nel 1226, i frati costruirono diverse piccole capanne intorno alla Porziuncola. Nel 1230 furono aggiunti un refettorio e alcuni edifici adiacenti. Intorno alla Porziuncola si aggiunsero nel tempo piccoli portici e alloggi per i frati. Alcune fondazioni di queste sono state scoperte durante gli scavi sotto il pavimento dell'attuale basilica tra il 1967 e il 1969. Mentre un gran numero di pellegrini accorreva ad Assisi per ricevere il "Perdono di Assisi", il piccolo spazio della Porziuncola divenne completamente inadeguato per ospitare tutti questi pellegrini e crebbe la necessità di costruire una chiesa che incorporasse la Porziuncola. La costruzione della basilica iniziò il 25 marzo 1569.
Visita la chiesa di Santa Chiara , La chiesa fu costruita, dopo la morte di Santa Chiara, tra il 1257 e il 1265, intorno all'antica chiesa di San Giorgio, che fino al 1230 aveva custodito le spoglie mortali di San Francesco
Splendida residenza barocca con volte affrescate agli inizi del Seicento da pittori umbri e toscani - è esposta la Pinacoteca Comunale di Assisi, che comprende un cospicuo gruppo di affreschi medievali e rinascimentali
La mistica cittadina di San Francesco, davanzale circondato dalle sue antiche mura, costruita sulle verdi pendici del Monte Subasio, con le sue case colorate di pietra a inchiostro. Strade strette, balconi fioriti e palazzi nobiliari offrono splendide viste per immagini memorabili (non dimenticare la fotocamera). Interessante la visita alla Basilica di San Francesco con i suoi capolavori del primo Rinascimento di Giotto e Cimabue e alla Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli.
Il Duomo di Orvieto è una delle più belle cattedrali italiane, capolavoro dell'architettura gotica del centro Italia. Il magnifico edificio domina la scogliera su cui si trova Orvieto grazie alle sue dimensioni. In particolare, lo splendore della sua facciata è conosciuto in tutto il mondo, con le sue torri che raggiungono un'altezza di circa 53 metri. Da non dimenticare l’interno della Cupola, con meravigliose decorazioni e affreschi realizzati da alcuni dei più grandi pittori del passato, tra cui il celebre Giudizio Universale di Luca Signorelli.
Esplora Orvieto, una delle città più antiche d’Italia, deve le sue origini alla civiltà etrusca: i primi insediamenti risalgono al IX secolo a.C. e si trovavano all’interno delle grotte tufacee create nel massiccio su cui attualmente sorge la cittadina umbra. Sebbene la fama di Orvieto sia profondamente intrecciata con quella della sua magnifica cattedrale, la città offre numerosi spunti storico-artistici e itinerari, proprio in virtù delle sue antiche origini. Inoltre, arroccata su una scogliera, Orvieto offre scorci panoramici davvero splendidi.

A very smooth private tour to great sights. Assisi guiding was especially competent but you would do wise to prepare yourself with advance information of the very interesting places to fully appreciate everything in the tight time limit the one day tour forces.

Antoinette was amazing! Beyond being informative about the various sites and the culture, she went above and beyond to ensure our day went smoothly. My sister got a little nauseas during the drive and immediately Antoinette worked to get supplies to alleviate my sister's symptoms and ensure she was able to enjoy the day. E car had to be charged a few times which was a new experience for us since it was a long day. But our driver Claudio was excellent and so was Rashi and Elizabeth, our tour guides in Assisi and Orvieto.
