I had the most amazing private tour of Oʻahu with Elf, and I cannot recommend her enough. One of the things I loved most was that she allowed me to completely customize my day. I told her I wanted to get away from the typical tourist experience and see some of the places the locals love, and she absolutely delivered. Elf is a local and a body surfer, so she had so many wonderful stories and such a unique perspective on the island. She showed me places I never would have discovered on my own and made the entire day feel more like exploring Oʻahu with a local friend than taking a traditional tour. Her kindness really stood out to me too. I had a terrible sunburn from the day before, and Elf actually stopped at her surfers’ community spot and cut fresh aloe for me to put on my burns. It was such a simple but incredibly caring gesture, and it tells you exactly the kind of person she is. We visited a local shopping center off the beaten path and a wonderful coffee shop and artist colony in Waialua. We explored beautiful Haleʻiwa and the North Shore, and she took me to Waimea Valley to see a heiau. We then visited Puʻu O Mahuka Heiau, a very special place of worship with one of the most beautiful views. Being able to experience these places while learning about the island from someone who calls Oʻahu home made them even more meaningful. And then there was lunch! Elf took me to the food truck area in Kahuku, where we ate at Kalena’s Hut. The barbecue was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Hungry Man. You may not be able to finish it, but it is exceptional! We ate our lunch underneath a beautiful plumeria tree, which somehow made the whole experience even better. The pineapple pies made by his daughter were delicious, and Kalena himself was one of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. He was simply a joy. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I asked for a private tour. I didn’t just want to check places off a sightseeing list. I wanted to experience Oʻahu through the eyes of a local, discover places I wouldn’t necessarily find on my own, meet wonderful people, hear their stories, and come home with memories that felt personal. Elf gave me exactly that and so much more. If you want to see a different, more personal side of Oʻahu, I wholeheartedly recommend spending the day with her. It was one of those special days in Hawaii that I will remember forever. More than anything, Elf is truly a good soul and a beautiful person, inside and out. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine love for her island came through in everything she did. I feel incredibly fortunate that our paths crossed, and she will always be part of some of my favorite memories of Oʻahu. 🌺

Elf was absolutely amazing! We wanted to experience as much of Oahu as possible, so she recommended a North Shore tour that included incredible snorkeling, historic sites, delicious food trucks, and several must-see attractions. Her knowledge of the island is exceptional—not only does she know the history and the best places to visit, but she also shared fascinating insights into the local culture and the ongoing efforts to preserve Oahu's heritage. She also suggested a trolley tour of the southeast side of the island, which perfectly complemented our North Shore adventure. Together, the two tours gave us the feeling that we had truly explored the perimeter of Oahu while learning so much along the way. If you want to experience the authentic Oahu beyond the typical tourist stops, let Elf be your guide. You won't be disappointed!

This private tour with Elf was relaxing and delightful. She showed us the most beautiful sites. Explored historical sites and trails off the beaten path. Stopped at a delicious roadside stand for lunch, banana bread, macadamia nuts and coffee. We swam at one of her favorite beaches that was not crowded at all. We had engaging conversations about HI, history and life. It was a zenful experience and I'd do it again!

Elf will take you wherever you want to go on the island, and share all of her wonderful information about the island. We had very limited time, but she was able to take us to a wonderful snorkeling stop, food trucks, Dole Plantation, Bydo in Temple, and when I Mentioned I was interested in getting some Kona coffee, she took us to Green World coffee farms, which happened to be on the way to Dole Plantation. Do NOT hesitate to book with her-you’ll be glad you did!🤓

This was the most amazing experience ever! Our tour guide (elf) was the best and had so much experience! She met all of our needs and was so much fun! Definitely worth going with this activity!! The best!!

Had an awesome day getting to know the island better with Elfi guiding. Gave her things we were interested in and she accommodated and adapted along the way, all the way to the end. We were able to both get a taste of the island and snorkel off shark's cove, which was great (so long as weather is calm). If you're looking for a taste of the real Oahu, highly recommend spending the day on this tour. Mahalo, Elfi!

Had an amazing day, we got to see absolutely stunning sights without the hassle of driving. We learned so much about this amazing island, we absolutely would recommend Elf to show you around, especially if you don't want the hassle of driving and finding parking.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Elf as a tour guide. We have travelled extensively and participated in a large number of tours both group and privately. She was silent for the majority of the entire tour And would drop us off at the various stops without explaining where to go or what it was that we were seeing. We ended up wandering around looking for whatever it is that we were supposed to find (blowhole, lookout, temple). She would respond to a specific question but generally with impatience and on several occasions provided incorrect information and on one of the questions told me to look it up via Google. The stops that she chose to take us to were poorly planned and not at all a good use of our time. She spent almost an hour and a half taking us to the wrong food trucks while refusing to accommodate a request to stop and walk a bit in the park. She absolutely refused to accommodate our requests. We sent a list of things we would like to see and do prior to getting together, which we had compiled by looking at some of the similar group tours that were available in the area. She arbitrarily put some of those things on her tour but neglected to make any reservations or let us know that reservations needed to be made so we were unable to stop and do some of the things that we should’ve been able to do. She was generally very negative and complained a lot, Specifically that she had a sinus infection from the poor air quality and that the Chinese had bought up all the mom and pop storefronts in Waikīkī and put in the luxury stores in addition to many other negative comments generally. The major disappointment was that she absolutely provided no information or the information that she provided was incorrect. I had asked if she could provide some information about the history of the island, She responded “that It was identical to the colonisation of the United States”. This is absolutely untrue. When we asked about the story behind the Byoda Temple she sighed and then stated “ It’s a replica of a 200-year-old Japanese temple, don’t know when it was built- it is not a working Buddhist temple anyway” . Also untrue. Basically, she drove in silence and only answered any questions sullenly or with annoyance. It was the most uncomfortable and stressful tour I’ve ever taken.
