Itinerario
In serata vi riporteremo a Cluj Napoca

I had a wonderful day on the Curly Tour – Day trip from Cluj with Curly Guide Tours. Mihai was a lovely guide: helpful, kind, funny, relaxed, and very knowledgeable without ever making the day feel like a lecture. We were also lucky with the company — the other couple on the tour clicked with us immediately, so the whole day felt easy, warm and full of good conversation. The itinerary was beautifully balanced. Salina Turda was absolutely incredible — much bigger and stranger and more impressive than I expected, with that slightly surreal underground-world feeling. You can take the elevator, but you can also climb the steps down and back up, which I did, and it made the whole experience feel even more satisfying. Also, the temperature underground is around 12°C all year, so definitely bring a jacket, even in summer. The countryside was gorgeous: small villages, rolling fields, sunflowers, and that quiet Transylvanian beauty that makes you want to stare out of the window like a slightly emotional poet. Turda Gorge was majestic — dramatic cliffs, fresh air, and a real sense of scale. Then Rimetea and the monastery brought a gentler kind of beauty: traditional village charm, excellent food, and the divine peace of the monastery. And the food! The traditional lunch was excellent. I especially loved the sarmale, and the papanași — or papanasi, if your keyboard refuses Romanian elegance — deserve their own fan club. Generous, comforting, delicious, and frankly dangerous to anyone pretending they are “just having a bite.” The only part I would not recommend was the zipline. It was fun in theory, but the ending was much too abrupt — it stopped with such a violent bang that I genuinely thought my elbows might snap. That needs improvement, and I personally would skip it. Apart from that, this was a fantastic day trip: beautiful places, excellent guiding, great food, easy conversation, and a really memorable glimpse of the countryside around Cluj. Highly recommended.
I went with Turdo, our guide, and another traveler, and the three of us became like friends. We came from three different continents, and my English wasn't great, but we talked and shared a lot during the trip. Turdo was a fantastic guide, arriving on time – the van was very spacious – he had a welcome gift and drink, gave detailed descriptions of each attraction, and took us to a great restaurant, offering us local specialties. He was very attentive to us during the hike, as some sections of the trail were slippery. This was a worthwhile trip, and I would recommend it to my friends if they ever visit Cluj.
Tudor was absolutely brilliant, he had a real love of Cluj (and Romania in general) and really sold how wonderful the country was. His knowledge was fantastic and he really give some fantastic insights into every place that we went.
Tudor is a great guide! Funny humor and careful! Lovely he brought us an unforgettable day trip ~ Really serious recommendation👍👍
Super friendly and informative guide. Only a small group of people, so guide and other guests always engaged. Excellent variety of local sights. The salt mine was an amazing and a must see place! A fast zip wire for the adrenaline junkies or just watch. The walk through the gorge was simply stunning, a beautiful place with lots of different wildlife. Peaceful unspoiled villages low key respectful visit to an outstanding monastery. Excellent restaurant for lunch. Highly recommended

Can’t say enough about our day with Tudor.. Filled with knowledge and good vibes from beginning to end. If I were Romanian I would be proud that I have good people such as him as an ambassador for my country and Cluj. I was so glad to have his guidance as we explored the the mine in Turda as well as a breathtaking hike through the Gorge, and the visit to the nearby village of Rimetea and the Monastery of Archangel Michael was a sweet bonus. Highly highly recommend a day with him as it will paint Romania and Transylvania in a completely different view for anyone who attends. Many thanks
We spent the day with Tudor touring the Turda Salt Mine, Turda Gorge, and Remetea Village. He showed us around the neighborhood and explained the traditional houses, he was very knowledgeable as his family was from the area. We stopped into a local coffee shop to have a latte and homemade lemonade before finishing up the tour at the Remetea Monastery to see the beautiful frescos painted by the nuns. 10/10 would recommend this tour!
Simona (sorry if I’ve spelt wrong!) was an amazing guide. On time, full of energy, lots and lots of interesting knowledge about any topic that was brought up, sharing the history of Romania, the salt mines etc. Plenty of time spent in each place, she took us through some incredibly scenic places, recommended great food, incredibly day. Definitely recommend
Pretty good experience overall. I had a great time in the mine and in the gorge. Sadly I won't give a 5 rating because we skipped the monastery for some reason
Thank you for your feedback! We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the salt mine and the gorge. We also appreciate you pointing this out regarding the monastery visit. We sincerely apologize for skipping it during your tour. We will make sure that in the future none of our guides skip the monastery stop, so every guest can enjoy the full experience as planned. Thank you again for traveling with us and for helping us improve!
