An incredible disappointment... if the excursion had been in Spanish territory you would have sued the company... look for any other option as the excursions are in a hurry and running and with basic explanations...

From Luxor to Aswan: Carefully on the MS “Nile Odyssey” From Luxor to Aswan and back is also the motor ship “Nile Odyssey”, which is one of the “Presidential Nile Cruises”. I was on the Nile in January 2026 with the ship and experienced a good and quiet sailing. Despite its 5 stars, the Nile Odyssey is a rather simple somewhat outdated ship with 78 cabins and 55 crew. I was accommodated on the “Odyssey” in cabin 321, which is located on the level of the restaurant. The 14 sqm cabin was equipped with a double bed, two small bedside tables, a desk element with refrigerator, closet with safe, small luggage rack, stool and a TV (no German channels). The carpet had some stains, but was clean. In the close associated bathroom there was a shower (seeming a bit worn out), toilet, small sink, hairdryer. The room was looked after by a good room service, which created new towel creations time and again. The restaurant on the third ship level offers three meals, with a surprisingly varied meal. There were often fish, meat dishes, changing vegetables, salads, potato variations, a dessert buffet and more. Apparently, care and clean water are taken in the preparation, because no one fell ill during our Nile cruise. Also the breakfast was rich and good, only with coffee I see development potential. There was only Nescafé - or Cappu at the bar with extra charge. Despite being “all-in”, each drink is noted both during the meal and at the bar and must be countersigned by the guest. A paper industry whose purpose I didn't realize. I felt positive about the captain's gentle and accurate ride. Although the ship was a little slower than other cruise ships constantly overtaking us, but so you had more of the sightseeing from the sundeck, which is also part of such a cruise. In addition, the ship sounds were so quieter, sometimes barely audible. The “Odyssey” has a small pool with sun loungers on the upper deck, a bar, front/sun deck and a reception. There is sometimes an evening program in the bar area with belly dancing or folklore. The staff was always looking after the well-being of the guests and very friendly and accommodating. That seemed real and not put on. Sure, the staff should supposedly receive a large part of the tip, which the tour operator recommends at 56 euros a week (i.e. 8 euros per day per passenger). On board, our guide considered this recommendation a mandatory sum to pay, which he claimed, although some of our tour group were only on board for a shortened period of 4 days... At the main sights on the way there are stops with several hours stay. There you can then participate in the excursions. If you have not booked them all in advance as a package and can or would like to decide individually, I can give you two tips for saving. In Luxor, the visit to the Luxor temple, which usually takes place in the evening, with the Sphinx avenue, is also easy to do independently. From the boat docks it is less than 10 minutes taxi ride (max .10 euros per taxi) and almost 10 euros admission. The tour guide offers this excursion for 50 euros per person (so you save 60 euros for 2 people, even more for 4 people). The situation is similar in Kom Ombo, where the temple complex is usually even accessible on foot from the jetty and then you only pay just under 10 euros entrance fee.

Our Noel Guide, who would accompany us throughout the cruise, picked us up at the Hotel in Asuan and took us on our first visit. Then we went to the boat that was the Hapi 5. I have to say the boat was excellent, the room very comfortable and the food really good. Very friendly and friendly staff. All the excursions we did very well explained and detailed by our guide. My wife with a knee injury and many problems moving was very well taken care of at all times. I want to emphasize that by taking us to the Hotel that we had hired and running into a problem in it, they offered to help us and were responsible for finding another Hotel and taking us there. They kept in touch with us even after the Tour. I have no words to thank you for all the help you gave us. I recommend them not once but 1000 times for the treatment the attention and affection that gave us both their management and our Guide, who accompanied us throughout the trip. After booking this trip on Tripadvisor, we decided to do our whole holiday (Cairo, Train Cairo-Aswan, Boat Aswan-Luxor, Private Taxi Luxor-Marsa Alam, Private Taxi Marsa Alam-Hurghada) with Marca Tours. And we couldn't be more happy with it. The whole trip was perfectly organised from A-Z, from arrival at the airport, to all the transfers inbetween. Egypt is quite a chaotic, sometimes unclear country and we might have been able to do this ourselves but it would have never been so smooth and easy as it was now. Kareem picked us up in the airport and showed us around Cairo, and sat with us at the train station for 2 hours, to put us in the right place in the sleeper train. Fun conversations, nice to get to know more about the country and how the people live here. Highlight of the trip was the boat from Aswan-Luxor with Ahmed. On a tour like this, the guide really can make or break the experience, and Ahmed absolutely made it. We were sad to leave him behind in Luxor, but happy that we got to know him a bit. He tailorfit the trip completely to our needs, included all kinds of nice walks on local markets and local coffee houses. This man loves his job and his job is to make you love Egypt, something you will. Can absolutely recommend going for Marca Tours!
