We had an unforgettable Kawa Kawa wildlife tour, and Joel made it truly exceptional. Joel is an outstanding guide with an impressive depth of knowledge. He doesn't just identify the animals and plants—he explains the bigger picture, including the ecosystem, conservation efforts, and how everything is connected. His passion for nature is obvious, and his explanations were both fascinating and easy to understand. He was incredibly attentive, enthusiastic, and friendly throughout the entire tour. He made sure everyone was comfortable, answered all of our questions in detail, and did everything he could to give us the best possible experience. Thanks to his expertise and sharp eyes, we enjoyed amazing sightings of proboscis monkeys, fireflies, and many other fascinating animals. If you're lucky enough to have Joel as your guide, you're in for a fantastic experience. We highly recommend him and would gladly join another tour with him. Really great experience with Amazing Borneo! From the airport pick up all the way to departing the fabulous country, service was tip-top!! Emily and Freddy did an amazing job making us feel welcomed! Their knowledge and experience is really above standard! The Klias experience was really eye opening and enjoyable! Seeing the animals in their original state and how nature should be, makes the whole trip even more enjoyable!

During our time in Malaysia, we worked with Rustic Travel / Amazing Borneo Tours, and this part of the trip was handled absolutely flawlessly. Their local agent Jonathan was in close contact with us throughout our stay in Malaysia and coordinated all transportation, both when travelling from one destination to another and for all planned excursions and tours. Communication was primarily done via WhatsApp, which worked perfectly. All messages were sent well in advance and always contained clear, relevant, and detailed information — making everything feel smooth and stress-free. On one occasion, we needed to change a transportation time at short notice, and this was handled incredibly quickly and efficiently. The issue was resolved almost immediately, without any hassle on our side. Jonathan were professional, proactive, and highly service-minded, and we always felt very well taken care of. Their local knowledge and excellent coordination played a big role in making our time in Malaysia so relaxed and enjoyable.

Thanks to our guide, Dudy, we had an absolutely wonderful river cruise experience! His knowledge about the wildlife and the history of Sabah was outstanding, and we learned so much from him. His ability to spot proboscis monkeys and crocodiles faster than anyone else was truly impressive, and because of that, we were able to see so many animals up close. After sunset, the fireflies were even more beautiful than I had imagined. It became a memory I will treasure for the rest of my life. And I must mention—the tea and dinner were delicious. And of course, we can’t forget Dudy’s great sense of humor! His jokes kept us laughing the whole time, making the tour even more enjoyable. Thank you for such a fun and unforgettable experience.

The tour guide cum driver provide an excellent service, was lucky to see the monkeys, firefly and crocodie. Food and refreshment provided was also excellent. Overall i enjoy the tour very much

We booked Kawa River Cruise - Wildlife & Fireflies incl. private transport with corresponding additional costs (for this we had a small bus private to ourselves - the bus was like new, very clean and the ride accordingly very pleasant). It all worked out great. Communication via WA for booking and organization worked great. Joel our tour guide and rider was very professional, gave great additional information, took great care of us (we didn't have to wait long) and made the tour a very interesting and great experience, thank you Joel. We have seen nostril monkeys, various exotic birds and other native animals such as macaques, water buffalo or langurs. The food was local and tasted great. The subsequent night boat trip, during which the river and mangrove forests were illuminated by the sparkle of the fireflies, was an additional highlight. Gavin from Amazing Borneo in Sabah was an outstanding guide and driver for our Klias mangrove tour. Despite only my wife and I being in the group, Gavin stayed with us throughout the entire day, providing detailed explanations. Unlike other tours that simply drop guests at the jetty and leave, he guided us through the whole experience. He helped us spot all three species of monkeys and ensured we captured the perfect sunset. When we wanted to return early, he kindly drove us back near our hotel and even recommended a great night market. The service from Amazing Borneo and Gavin's enthusiasm truly impressed us. This tour was really amazing, the river cruise guide is fantastic , he spotted a lot of animal for us to see closer. Accommodation quality also good. Also, Joey , who arranged this tour for us is still keep her very good service as our previous time booked other tour with her. Definitely will recommend to my other friends to follow this tour.

My wife and I were part of a Reunion held in Kota Kinabalu Sabah Malaysia. Our highlights were the “Mari Mari Cultural Village, Island Visit, Kilas Wildlife River Cruise, Mount Kinabalu Park, Botanical Garden and the Kundasang and the War memorial”. Gavin and Jonathan are amazing guides. I was travelling solo and they made me feel comfortable. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and spotted the Proboscis monkeys, loved the local food. It was raining but it wasn't bothersome. The highlight for me was the sunset. It was magical. So grateful and thank you for the laughs.
