We booked our cruise through the hostel we stayed at in Cairo. The name of the cruise was Semiramis. The rooms were nice but the bathroom can use a little renovation. The tickets to each sight are not included but the transportation and guides are ready for you at each stop. We had a different guide for each city. The last day in Luxor, we had Ahmed Mousa as our guide. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his culture and history. He took us to Valley of the Kings, (followed by a quick stop at an alabaster store in workers village), Hatshepsut Temple, Karnak Temple. He was always with us pointing out and explaining the details despite the 40 Celsius degree heat. I appreciate Ahmed Mousa and his patience. He was always carefully explaining and never rushed us to finish. I’d highly recommend him for his professionalism.
All good with our tour in Luxor, the guide knows all the history behind the temples and we had a good visiting Luxor. We have visited all the places mentioned in the tour.
I booked a 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Fayrouz Travel, which included guided tours of many temples along the way. The tour guides were all kind, respectful, and communicated clearly about pickup and drop-off times. We felt very safe throughout the trip—thank you for that. Several guides went out of their way to be kind to my kids, adjusting the pace of the tours to match their attention spans, which I really appreciated. The temples were fascinating, although a bit repetitive by the end. Still, we learned so much, and I’ll never forget sailing down the Nile, riding in a hot air balloon, and visiting Egypt’s iconic historical sites. The boat we were on—Magic 2—was beautiful and provided good service. While not as luxurious as some of the other ships we saw, it was a solid experience and fair for what we paid. Now for the downsides: While the tour description states that everything is included except entrance fees—which is technically true—be prepared for significantly higher out-of-pocket costs. There are a lot of temples, each with its own entrance fee (ranging from a few dollars to over $20), which adds up quickly, especially for families. Additionally, tipping is expected at almost every turn: drivers, balloon operators, boat captains, carriage drivers, even people who simply open a door or hand you something you didn’t ask for. You may even be asked for more after tipping. While this isn’t unique to Fayrouz Travel, the tipping culture in Egypt is extremely aggressive, so it’s something to be aware of in advance. One major issue we had was on Day 2, when the agency tried to charge us an extra $60, claiming that because our flight out of Luxor on Day 3 was at 4:30 PM, we would need to switch to a private tour after the balloon ride. However, I had specifically confirmed with the agency before booking our flight that the tour would be done by 1:00 PM. After over an hour of back-and-forth via WhatsApp, they finally dropped the extra charge. In the end, our “group tour” turned out to be just the three of us—clearly, they knew all along that no one else was joining and simply tried to upsell us. I found this dishonest and frustrating. Overall, we had a beautiful experience and made unforgettable memories, but I recommend going in with clear expectations about additional costs and being firm if the agency tries to change the terms after booking.
Unforgettable trip, very nice boat, new room. Very kind and helpful staff for our every need. Cleanliness impeccable. Even good and hearty eating with many choices. Our guides very kind especially our guides in Luxor Osca and Ibraim.
Talaat Abdo he was my tour guide… he was incredibly knowledgeable, bringing Egypt’s ancient history to life with fascinating stories and deep insights at every site we visited. Their enthusiasm and passion made the experience unforgettable, ensuring we didn’t just see the landmarks but truly understood their significance. From expertly navigating Karnak Temple to sharing hidden details we would have otherwise missed, they made our trip both educational and exciting!
Excellent experience with our guide Khaled on the Nile cruise! Our guide was exceptional, with in-depth and exciting knowledge of Egyptian history and mythology. His energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and he managed to keep us hooked at each of the stops of the trip. What I liked most was their ability to connect ancient history with the present day, highlighting the creativity, originality, innovation and futuristic vision of ancient Egyptians in fields such as architecture, medicine and astronomy. This allowed us to appreciate the importance and legacy of Egyptian civilization. Highly recommended this cruise for anyone looking for an authentic and enriching experience in Egypt!"
The cruise trip was everything we expected and more. The food on board delicious, the special treatment, all very attentive. Guide Khaled Elsaady very well. He explains everything with passion and has a lot of patience because we always want more free time for photos! Always send us the day before the itinerary with specific hours, very tidy and we like that a lot. I recommend it 100%
The Coordination was a disaster, we miss one trip (Kom ombo) because no guide appear, the ship was worse as we expected, one guide was in english and we book Spanish, when we arrive at Abu Simbel the driver told us that we didnt have the guide include, the time to visit the temples is ridículus…

We do not offer payment in exchange for positive reviews, as integrity and transparency are fundamental values for us. Also you asked for refund of kom ombo trip to write good reviews "mention in whatapp chat" this was out of our hands, also mentioned that you enjoyed all your trip with us. I have any legitimate concerns about your experience, we would be happy to address them. Please feel free to contact us directly so we can assist you further.
Most parts of the experience were very good. But a couple of glaring low points left an average feeling behind. Pros: The ship and facilities there were very good. Except for Abu Simbel where the ride was shared with a couple of others, every other tour was private. That was a great bonus. Vehicles and guides were excellent. Especially Ahmed who was our guide in Luxor. Everybody was patient with my parents who had mobility issues and ensured we had an un rushed experience. Cons: 1. It was quite challenging to get in touch with the agency when we needed assistance. We had to message on WhatsApp or Viator and wait an indefinite time for a response. Calls were never picked. Even conformation of the tour took multiple follow-ups, calls and messages to Viator support. This uncertainty really pulled the experience down a few notches. 2. The balloon ride did not happen. We were told it was canceled due to weather, but noticed that balloons were indeed flying that day and others on the cruise with a different company, were on them. It was likely a booking issue on their end that they did not disclose.
We had a really great time with Ahmed Yossry as our tour guide. We learned a lot about ancient Egyptian history and the tour of the monuments was quite an experience! And the hot balloon was magical, with a perfect pilot! Definitely would recommend.
