Mentre navighiamo dal vecchio porto di Mandraki, la porta di accesso a Rodi, otteniamo un'incredibile vista delle mura medievali di Rodi e dei dintorni della città vecchia e del castello. Opportunità fotografica unica!
Il Colosso di Rodi è considerato una delle sette meraviglie del mondo antico. Era un'enorme statua raffigurante il dio del sole. Stiamo passando nel punto in cui si trovava il monumento: l'ingresso del porto!
Kallithea è famosa per le sue sorgenti naturali, per arrivarci ci vogliono 45 minuti e ci fermeremo lì per 1 ora. Qui sarai invitato a esplorare e fare una rinfrescante nuotata mattutina. Le proprietà curative delle sorgenti sono note già nell'antichità. L'acqua rossastra che erutta da una formazione rocciosa nel Golfo di Kallithea attira le persone da migliaia di anni. L'architetto italiano Pietro Lombardi fu incaricato della progettazione degli edifici. Armando Burnaby, altro eminente architetto italiano, intraprese i lavori decorativi nel pieno rispetto dell'ambiente naturale. Un anno dopo, il medico italiano Alberto Mocci organizzò qui una conferenza idrologica internazionale, alla quale parteciparono più di 200 scienziati. I visitatori, scoprono, la pulizia fisica e mentale nella tranquillità di questa meravigliosa cornice. L'ingresso dal mare è gratuito e avrai sicuramente abbastanza tempo per visitarlo prima di salpare per la nostra seconda tappa.
Sulla via del ritorno, ci vuole 1 ora dalla baia di Anthony Quinn al porto di Rodi, Mandraki, passeremo per la spiaggia di Faliraki. Faliraki è una bellissima città costiera situata con le sue splendide spiagge, acque cristalline e una vivace vita notturna, è una delle destinazioni turistiche più popolari di Rodi.
La prossima tappa è Anthony Quinn Bay che è completamente diversa da Afandou. È una piccola baia circondata da alte rocce con acque molto profonde. Per arrivarci da Afandou ci vogliono 15 minuti. Trascorreremo 1 ora in questa baia, ci sono migliaia di piccoli pesci e sei invitato a utilizzare l'attrezzatura per lo snorkeling gratuita, che è a tua disposizione sulla barca. Potresti anche voler lanciare il pane ai pesci che si raduneranno nelle vicinanze per mangiare. Finora nessun pesce ha mai mangiato nessuno dei nostri ospiti. Nemmeno un singolo boccone. La baia prende il nome dal famoso attore messicano, protagonista del film campione d'incassi internazionale, I cannoni di Navarone negli anni '60. Quando Quinn venne a Rodi per girare il film, rimase stupefatto dalla bellissima baia e chiese allo stato greco se poteva comprarlo. Tuttavia, l'accordo non è mai stato portato a termine e, dopo anni di controversie, la Corte ha stabilito che era inapplicabile. Nonostante ciò, la gente del posto chiama la spiaggia Anthony Quinn in suo onore.
Attraversiamo la baia di Ladiko. La parola "Ladi" (significa olio) è il contenitore che usi per riporre o conservare l'Olio. La bellissima spiaggia prese questo nome perché era un punto commerciale di carico e scarico dell'olio d'oliva. Per le navi da carico commerciali dell'epoca, questo particolare punto era la stazione commerciale per le transazioni con i produttori di petrolio della regione mentre caricavano i loro carichi destinati all'Egitto e al Medio Oriente. I pescatori locali hanno trovato intorno alla zona di Ladikos diversi contenitori di argilla che provengono da relitti che commerciavano in quella zona. Si trova proprio dietro Anthony Quinn circondato da grotte. La pittoresca baia di Ladikos è oggi una spiaggia frequentata che fa parte di numerosi tour in barca e anche di numerose attività subacquee che si svolgono nella zona.
AFANTOU è famosa per la sua enorme spiaggia con acque cristalline, lunga circa 6 km composta da ciottoli e per il suo enorme campo da golf, per arrivarci da Kallithea ci vogliono 45 minuti e noi impiegheremo 1 ora e 15 minuti. I ciottoli da qui sono stati utilizzati nella costruzione dei marciapiedi della Città Vecchia delle strade, l'area intorno ad AFANTOU, ha molti monumenti, tombe e fondazioni di templi. L'insediamento costiero qui fu attaccato e distrutto tre volte dai pirati nel 620, dai persiani nel 653, dagli arabi e nell'807 dai turchi. Dopo questi attacchi, gli abitanti abbandonarono gli insediamenti costieri visibili agli aggressori, e si trasferirono un po' nel territorio dietro le Rocce, dove oggi si trova l'insediamento e che non è visibile dal mare. Il nome AFANTOU deriva dalla parola Afandou, che in greco significa invisibile. Avrai più di un'ora per esplorare la zona e le grotte prima che saremo lieti di aprire il pranzo a buffet a bordo.

The food was delicious and the drinks were plentiful! We had a lot of swimming/snorkeling time. Plenty of seats in the sun and shade, even though it was a large group excursion

We absolutely loved this! The boat is clean, great staff and facilities. The drinks were fabulous. Offered a choice of white and rose local wines, as well as soda etc! Boat comes equipped with snorkelling stuff and pool noodles (enough to go around). Super comfy reclining chairs too. The vibe is friendly, chilled but also exciting. You can jump from the upper or lower level of the boat, or use the 2 ladders that go diagonally into the ocean, making it very easy to get on and off of the boat for all ages. We had people from 7-75 on our boat and no one had any issues. The lunch offered was also very good! Super tasty Greek items that fill you up well without feeling too heavy! We loved it.
There are many available cruises in Rhodes but Romantika stood out to us the most. We booked the day cruise with Benia who was so lovely, fun and helpful! The trip included an open bar - didn’t even have to go to the bar, because staff circled around offering free wine -, three swim stops at beautiful places with crystal clear waters, a great buffet and good music! Also snorkeling gear! This trip was definitely worth the money. Also, my friend had a broken leg and a cast, and the staff was super helpful, kind and looked out for her! They helped with covering the cast so she could swim. Definitely 10/10 experience! Special shoutout to Benia and all of the cruise staff ! <3
We came on this trip in September 2025 and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to go again this week when we came back to Rhodes. A big shout out to Stephanie for remembering us, she is so friendly, warm and welcoming! 3 swimming stops, lovely comfortable seats and a relaxing fun day out. Noodles and snorkels provided, as well as a lovely tasty lunch freshly prepared onboard and wine, all included in the price of the ticket. Elizabeth was especially good at her job and all the crew are great. Highly recommend this trip, really good value for money and a great day out.
A great tour, wonderful food, and a good selection of drinks (optional for a fee/prices within reason), with wine and soft drinks included in the price. The lunch buffet was freshly prepared with love. The service and friendliness were outstanding. Great spots visited. Absolute recommendation, the price-performance ratio was outstanding.

She noticed I was traveling alone and immediately stepped in to help, saying, "Let me video you and take some photos for you!" Then, I went back to my room to research and carefully choose the absolute best option (as you can see below 😅). Romantika won by a landslide! The staff explained everything so perfectly and gave me the best reasons to choose them. I immediately went back to their booth station and booked my spot. On June 17, I boarded the boat and enjoyed every single second from start to finish. The whole team was incredibly friendly, and I also met other tourists on board who were just as friendly and awesome!This tour is super worth it! We went to the kiosk and spoke to Benia who was lovely and explained fully what was included in this trip and everything was delivered as she explained.The boat,staff, food and stops were all amazing and the captains dancing was too. When we got off the boat Benia was there to check everything was fine for everyone which I think was an added personal touch. This trip was one of the best we have been on and I would highly recommend it.
