Il governo ha elaborato progetti per accogliere questi nuovi arrivi. L’idea era quella di progettare un modello di ‘villaggio’ che sembrasse un luogo in cui le persone potessero effettivamente vivere. Gli architetti hanno lavorato duramente per fondere gli edifici con l'ambiente circostante. Nota : Il tour è lungo oltre 44 miglia, con più di 40 storie audio, e richiede circa 2-3 ore per essere completato. Nuovo, Accesso a vita, nessuna scadenza. Usalo quando vuoi, in qualsiasi viaggio, tutte le volte che vuoi.
Il Monte Mazama non ha eruttato solo una volta. Ogni eruzione minore prima di quella grande rilasciava roccia vulcanica leggera piena di bolle di gas. Quella è pomice! Questa roccia super porosa è così leggera perché è piena di buchi. I vulcani come il Monte Mazama creano questo materiale insolito quando mettono le rocce sotto calore e pressione elevatissimi, quindi le espellono ad alta velocità attraverso l'aria durante un'eruzione.
Questa escursione di 2 miglia è ripida e faticosa, ma se vuoi visitare la riva del Crater Lake o prendere un traghetto per Wizard Island, questo è il posto giusto per farlo.
Tuttavia, sull’isola non troverai collegi per magia e stregoneria. Prende invece il nome dal piccolo picco dell’isola, che assomiglia un po’ alla punta appuntita del cappello di un mago!
Una storica torre di guardia che offre viste fantastiche e ininterrotte di Crater Lake. Questo percorso di 2 miglia è moderatamente difficile, con terreno accidentato e dislivello di 400 piedi. Ci vuole circa un'ora in totale.
Merriam Point, un altro ottimo posto per ammirare viste mozzafiato sul lago e sui suoi dintorni.
Questa escursione di 2 miglia è ripida e faticosa, ma se vuoi visitare la riva di Crater Lake o prendere un traghetto per Wizard Island, questo è il posto giusto per farlo. Ricorda solo che non si tratta solo di scendere 700 piedi... devi risalire!
Questo è il punto più alto per ammirare la vista di Crater Lake. Cloudcap Overlook ci offre una visione chiara mentre guardiamo verso ovest. La vista da qui ci aiuta a mostrare quanto sia profonda l'acqua. Una volta parcheggiato, assicurati che il lago non rubi tutta la tua attenzione. Proprio alle nostre spalle, lontano dal lago, si erge il Monte Scott, il punto più alto del parco.
Nonostante il nome, la Nave Fantasma non è realmente una nave, ma un insieme di antiche formazioni di roccia vulcanica. Questa formazione si trova come una piccola isola, appena al largo della terraferma. Quando la nebbia si alza e si deposita sul lago, sembrerà una nave spettrale che naviga sulla sua superficie.
Poco più avanti c'è il Sun Notch Trail, un facile anello di mezzo miglio che richiede circa 15-20 minuti in totale per essere percorso. Questa gemma nascosta offre splendide viste sulla Nave Fantasma e sulle profonde acque blu della Baia di Chaski proprio sotto di noi.
Ora tieni presente che Crater Lake è 600 piedi sotto di noi. Allora da dove viene l'acqua per alimentare questa cascata? In realtà è una primavera alimentata dallo scioglimento delle nevi e dalle piogge stagionali! Ciò significa che le cadute sono più potenti in primavera e all'inizio dell'estate, e rallentano più tardi.
I primi fiori che spuntano dalla neve sono le viole di montagna e i ranuncoli di Gorman. Non vedono l'ora di emergere dopo essere stati coperti da quasi 50 piedi di neve in un inverno medio.

The views are good, but they are pretty redundant. This made the drive much more interesting. Really glad we had the app. Download the app and location data before heading towards crater lake...you probably will not get any reception. The auto GPS markers played perfectly when they were supposed to. Also the big crowded lookouts are made to accommodate buses.....if you skip those and go to the next random opening, it looks just as good, without the crowds.

Let me say that we have used audio tours in the past. This one was not easy to use. We spent too much time trying to get it to work correctly. We never did get it to work with the driving map. We played the narratives manually and they did not match the signage at Crater Lake so it was very difficult to follow. The stories were interesting but not much help. I would not buy again.

Please note that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto aren’t supported for navigation, but you can still listen to the audio stories through them. If you could share more details, I’d be happy to assist. My support hours are 9–6 EST, and since our products are valid for a year, you can use them at your convenience or request a replacement or refund if needed.
Never able to download app and assistance was below average. I tried a minimum of four tries to download and could never accomplish and was told I would receive a call or a text....when I finally talked to someone I was passed off to another person and kept getting re-routed to beginning of process.
Jim, sorry about your Crater Lake tour experience. Did you try downloading it at the location? I recommend downloading in advance on a good internet connection, as park areas often have limited service. Complete download and setup beforehand to avoid issues. If the link isn’t working, search for the app on the App Store or Google Play, enter the password, and you’re set. It seems you contacted Viator support—I’d like to help personally. My tours are valid for a year after booking, so you can use them if you return. If you’ve left Crater Lake, I can offer a different tour as a replacement. Nice narrative while driving around Crater Lake. Learned a lot about how it was formed. We had thought the Crater was from a meteor. It corrected that.

I have used GuideAlong for plenty of other tours, and feel that Action has a lot to catch up to. Did not seem as organized or as timely, and no personal suggestions

The commentary was right on the money mile for mile around crater Lake great history and we stopped at all the places it suggested absolutely wonderful. We would definitely use this again.

When you buy the guided tour they don’t tell you the road is closed due to snow and road construction. I was able to drive 1.8 miles of the 21 mile loop! Will not reopen until July if even then according to the park ranger.
