This class was wonderful! They were very accommodating to food allergies and made everything very easy and fun to make. They gave a great history of not only the food influences but also of the island. It was very laid back and comfortable!
Thank you Alex and Mandy (and team) for a superb 4 or so hours at your wonderful restaurant and amazing cooking experience. It was a pleasure and everything about it, works perfectly. That is of course down to your passion and love for all you say, create and believe in. Heritage and Family. Was a beautiful location and your anecdotes, stories, cultural input and hosting were exemplary. Clare and I had an amazing time. As I said Alex when we chatted over lunch your vision to diversify and add more strings to the Green Frog’s bow is superb. We wish you all the best. I know how these things are. Holidays can so often be quite insular and don’t for all sorts of differing reasons and motivations even for an hour or two truly embrace the ‘where and what’ of wherever it is we go to have sun on our backs for a week or so. You encapsulated that subtly and perfectly. “Just be a visitor and not just a tourist” .Green Frog under your expert eyes, family surroundings, passion and heartfelt love for all you do forged over 34+ years shines through. If you are thinking about this experience and looking at this review, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. Take a moment out, sit and cook/eat/chat under the friendly care of Mandy, Alex and team. That sunbed is all the better when done something like this.
An exptionally enjoyable experience with Alex, Mandy and the team. I have completed a number of cooking courses, this one was amazing. The process from start to finish was spot on. Mixture of tasting, learning the cooking and listening to Alex's love and passion for Greek history. A class of around 14 around a u shaped table, in a shaded environment was the right atmosphere. I am really looking forward to having a stab at re-creating the recipes back at home. Γεια μας.
Really great experience. Great food, learn new information on Zakynthos. The team was also very understanding and considerate with allergies.
Alex, Mandy and the team were wonderful hosts. The cooking class was explained clearly and easy to follow. Alex’s encyclopaedic knowledge of Greek history, culture and food was fascinating, we could have listened all day! Rounded off by a fabulous lunch that we had prepared. Cannot wait to try it out at home! Highly recommended to anyone visiting Zakynthos!
We participated in this Greek cooking class during our vacation in Zakynthos and can wholeheartedly recommend it! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish and was incredibly fun. The chef and his mother, who co-led the class, were super warm, friendly, and took plenty of time for all participants. Everything was explained clearly, so one could learn a lot about Greek cuisine and the preparation of the dishes. The atmosphere was relaxed and familial, and one felt comfortable right away. The food was, of course, the highlight in the end – everything was incredibly delicious and prepared with fresh ingredients. Thank you very much for this beautiful experience! We would do the cooking class again anytime and can recommend it to anyone who is in Zakynthos.
What a great Friday morning, really well lead with everyone getting involved, great dishes to cook and eat with all the recipes sent to your email so you can cook them at home. Lots of history about the island, the area and the food all presented with an easy and humorous manner. When we go back to Zante we will definitely do one of the other courses, highly recommended.
I had such a great time, Chef Alex is very knowledgeable and made the class so much fun!! And the food, wow, beyond delicious! I recommend taking this class for everyone, not only home cooks.
A fantastic day out! We are staying West on the island and definitely worth the trip over. Mandy and Alex were great hosts, really informative and friendly and great chefs. The food was delicious and plenty of leftovers to take home. We learnt a lot and great recipes to take home with us. So much squeezed into 4 hours, great value for money. Would certainly recommend to anyone interested in cooking!
