We are a family of four with children’s age 15 and 12. This is an audio guide tour and the teenagers lost interest quite quickly. Otherwise it was fine, wonderful to visit the Colosseum. Would’ve been better with an in person tour guide. My recommendation to families going forward would be too splurge and take the actual tour guide.
Guide was so slow and I couldn't understand her.
Our guide Guiseppe did a fantastic job. It was sweltering hot and he found all the shady spots to help us cool down. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained much of the history of the Roman emporers who built the structures. He spoke English very well and definitely did an A+ job! On the downside, the company changed our tour time to later than we booked, and the heat was worse as a result. And they deleted the tour segment of the Colosseum arena and could not tell us what amount they might refund for the reduced access. But Giuseppe's fantastic job made it all worthwhile.
We went on a small group tour. Few issues with some people not having ID as requested, which slowed us down. Long queues at the Roman forum and extremely hot. Seen most sites but was tough going. 2 people bailed before the trip finished. Coliseum was really good remainder less so.
Tour guide was a history teacher. He was fantastic and with lots of information. Our small group (7) were asking questions and our guide encouraged it. I had a much better understnding of the history (time line) and how things were done. Loved the tour
Easy instructions for meeting point text and emails and reminders the day before in an hour before both from the app and the text made it extremely easy to find what I was looking for. True guide was amazing and very knowledgeable.
Our tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable except that she was extremely difficult to follow as her accent was very strong and English somewhat limited. We were a group of 10 and all had the same issue. Headset quality was not great, we only realised this the next day when we went on another tour where the quality was superb. Also booked an arena floor entry ticket which got cancelled 5 days before the tour, still waiting for reimbursement for that portion of the ticket and left us with no options to acquire tickets for entry to the floor. Given the opportunity again we would not have booked this tour
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Firstly they changed the time of our trip, which wasn't convenient for us but we didn't have a choice but to go with the new time. Secondly we did not get the experience we paid for. We paid £166 for the experience! Booking a similar experience whilst in Rome was 18 euros! I have sent email after email complaing but have not had one response back, very poor customer service. Do not use!
This tour was really good and a great way to see/experience Rome on our first day. My daughter has been dreaming about visiting the Colosseum and this tour did not disappoint!!
Paid for the Arena floor to be included in the Colosseum tour, but the tour operator changed a day before and said they’d refund me the difference since they’re still under arena floor was not part of the new tour. I have not received a partial refund yet
