Jason was our live guide. He was fun and jovial and we learned A LOT about hurling (Gallway v Limerick was that afternoon). Jason also LOVEs Mayo football. He talked all about the upcoming match and “curse”. We didn’t learn much about the local sights but Jason was fun. Wish he talked more about the sights tho therefore, only 4 stars. Stick to ‘teaching’ J.
Loved the tour, great history stories, the tour guide (Seán) was telling (funny) stories with a lot of passion and you can tell he loves what he does. The driver (Steve) was amazing, relaxing ride and so much to see. Definitely recommend!
Our tourguide Seán did an amazing job. Great story telling and funny. Our driver Steve did an amazing job driving down those narrow streets. I had an great time on the hop on hop off tour. A great way to see all of Galway! I highly recommend taking this tour and have Seán as your guide!
Not worth the cost of the ticket. You would be better off with a walking tour. Galway City too small to justify a hop on hop off tour.
We went in July and there was only one bus running- which was a surprise to us. Yes, it’s a hop on/hop off tour, but the bus doesn’t comeback for 1.5 hrs so it’s hard to do more than one hop off. That’s the three stars. This tour should just be a tour, the hop on/hop off is a bit misleading. The guide, however, was five stars. He sang, gave us great history, and kept us engaged. We took one of his suggestions and went back to O’Connor’s bar that night. It did not disappoint. Fantastic!
Shawn was a great guide!! Very knowledgeable, friendly and funny! Gave great recommendations to local pubs for live music!
Despite the weather we had enjoyable trip around Galway. Bus was on time and recieved a warm welcome from Jason our guide. Learnt some very interesting facts on the way . We got off further along had something to eat and jumped back on for the rest of tour. Highly recommend. Thank you to Jason our guide and Sean the driver and well done Mayo 😁 great result.
Sean was utterly charming and funny as well as professional… he kept the narrative flowing as we traversed through a particularly steamy day in Galway city, with timely jokes and some nice personal interjections. It was an exceptionally hot day and he kept it “ breezy”!! … we enjoyed our time with him. Steve, the bus driver, was amazing.
Got on at Eyre Square with the intention of staying on for the full route Our tour only had a few people who got off at Salthill Jason, the tour guide sat with us and chatted about Galway, Ireland, the World Cup, history of Uk and Ireland and loads more, had a great time Ger drove sensibly and carefully whilst we sat in the sun Well worth the money
You have a live guide providing an awesome oral history of the town. visit the free museum afterwards, and his stories all are further linked by the exhibits.
