The tour was Ok but I think it was overpriced for some of the portions we received. I didn't expect large cups but they could go one size up. The foods: The chicken roti was bland, good portion, the rum punch was average, good portion, the fungee was good but the sauce was a little salty, good portion, the corn and turkey soup was good, not good portion, the smoothie was average, portion a little bigger, the bun and cheese was the best of all and the portion was good. The guide was knowledgeable but could've spoken more about Antiguas history such as our flag, our stone, our fruit, our motto, etc. I think. The site has this listed as a new experience but the guide said its been going on for years. She also ended the tour at 12:30 instead of 1:00 as listed on the site. Overall rating: 6 out of 10.
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate hearing both what you enjoyed and where you felt we could improve. We’re glad you enjoyed several of the tastings, especially the bun and cheese, and that you found your guide knowledgeable. We also appreciate your comments regarding portion sizes and the historical information shared throughout the tour. We continuously review both our menu and storytelling to ensure guests receive an authentic and memorable experience. Our tours are designed to showcase the foods that make up Antiguan culture and everyday life while supporting a number of local small businesses. We appreciate your feedback and will certainly take it into consideration as we continue to refine the experience. Thank you again for visiting, and we wish you all the best during the rest of your travels.
We have done many of these food tours around the world as we love to learn about the history of the area, but I must say this was disappointing. It said it would last 3 hours and it lasted 1hour 45- and it felt very rushed. The guide left with us still eating our last sample. It started great with information about the bread fruit tree and rum tasting, then the tour guide’s cousin turned up and the information dried up as the guide’s attention was on laughing with her cousin. The food we had was pleasant, but we turned up at a jerk shack which smelt amazing only to be given some peanut butter fudge in a plastic bag. We literally sat down here for 2 minutes and were told to put this fudge in our bags, then we left. Yes, our guide was young with a lot to learn- but not helping your guests across busy, unfamiliar roads was not acceptable. This experience was very expensive for what we got- spend the money doing something else as this island is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet the standard we strive to provide. Our goal is to create a relaxed experience that combines authentic local food with Antiguan history, culture and personal connections. Based on your comments, it seems we fell short of delivering that consistently during your tour, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. We have shared your feedback with our team and are using it as an opportunity to strengthen both our guide training and the overall guest experience. Thank you for recognizing the quality of the food, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to show you the experience we’re known for.
I did the City Lime Food tour with Malie, she was a very nice young woman. I was surprised when she informed me that I was the only person for the tour that day. I arrived early because I hate to be the late tourist and have everyone waiting. Our tour started earlier than usual but that was okay no complaint. Malie was very knowledgable and was able share really interesting facts with me about the restuarants, food and area. The Old fashion rum punch being the first stop at big banana on an empty stomach was not something I was expecting. But nevertheless, I was there for enjoyment and that old fashion rum punch, definitely punched quite hard! Lol! Everything that I consumed on the tour and carried back to my airbnb and consumed after the tour was delicious apart from the Tamarind ball. Personally, the Tamarind had a lot of seeds in it and was too sweet for me and I have a sweet tooth. Since I was the only person, we had a mini tour of St Johns whilst we waited for food to be prepared. Malie is friendly and so are all the food vendors. My favourite stops were the Soldier's Soup shack, I picked the goat water. Roti King, the bakery (can't remeber the name!) and of course Big Banana with that old fashion rum punch. I enjoyed my time on the tour, thank you Malie!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re delighted you enjoyed your day with Malie and that you appreciated learning about our food, local businesses and the stories behind them. The Old Fashion Rum Punch is certainly a guest favourite, and we’re glad it made such an impression. We’re also happy you enjoyed exploring St. John’s while waiting for some of the freshly prepared dishes. Thank you as well for your honest feedback about the tamarind ball. Traditional treats can be quite unique, and we appreciate you giving it a try! It was our pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you back to Antigua for another lime in the future. Safe travels!
Tiffany the owner was off the charts amazing. You learn so much about the food and the culture and the history and the fact that you get to eat the best of Antiguan food?! I can't recommend this tour enough. You leave filled inbelly and brain!
We had the unique luck of not only being the only ones on this tour, but also to be guided by the owner Tiffany! We were able to sample a wide variety of local Antiguan foods and drinks, as well as learning a great deal about Antiguan culture and history! We absolutely loved our time with Tiffany and everything we sampled was delicious! If you have the chance to visit this beautiful island, this tour is a must do! Thank you, Tiffany!
Had an incredible time on the City Lime Food Tour! It’s the perfect way to truly taste the culture of Antigua. Highly recommend if you want an authentic culinary experience in the town.

This tour is a 10/10! Eat n Lime Food Tours is an absolute must-do when visiting Antigua! The tour is the perfect mix of amazing local food, island history, and authentic culture. Every stop introduced us to delicious Antiguan dishes while our guide shared interesting stories and hidden gems around St. John’s. The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and relaxed, making it feel like you were exploring the city with friends. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about showcasing the best of Antigua. If you’re looking for a unique way to experience the city beyond the beaches, I highly recommend Eat n Lime Food Tours you’ll leave with a full stomach, great memories, and a deeper appreciation for Antiguan culture!
When I showed up to the tour,The tour guide gifted me a small bottle of water and was very kind and enthusiastic. 10/10 would recommend.
I booked this tour during low season and as a solo traveler. Normally this is not an issue, but I was the only one on the tour and it did take away from my experience. The menu layout might disappoint travelers seeking a strictly local culinary experience as I joined specifically to sample authentic, traditional Antiguan food only.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your comments and are sorry to hear that parts of the experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. We understand that joining as the only guest on the tour can feel different from being part of a group, and we appreciate your perspective. Our goal is to give guests the opportunity to eat like a local by introducing them to the foods that make up Antigua’s culture and everyday life. While we would love to offer every traditional Antiguan dish every day, many of these meals are quite labour-intensive and are only prepared on certain days or for special occasions. Because of this, our menu is carefully curated to showcase a variety of authentic local flavours that are consistently available while still providing a genuine taste of Antiguan cuisine. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue to improve, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back for another experience in the future.
