Mentre la cultura gastronomica georgiana emerge lentamente dal congelamento dell'era sovietica, gli chef di Tbilisi guardano oltre i confini del loro paese e allo stesso tempo fanno rivivere e salvaguardano le tradizioni culinarie uniche della Georgia. Lo spirito aperto della Via della Seta è tornato in città e in questa epica giornata di cibo avremo un assaggio di cosa si tratta. La nostra giornata inizia dove Tbilisi ha avuto inizio millenni fa, vicino alle sorgenti termali naturali nella parte più antica della città. Qui, una moschea, una sinagoga e una cattedrale ortodossa georgiana offrono un panorama che racconta molto della diversità della città e della sua storia come importante centro di commercio e cultura e tappa fondamentale lungo l'antica Via della Seta. La posizione strategica di Tbilisi l'ha resa un luogo desiderabile da occupare, e non mancano i conquistatori di passaggio: romani, bizantini, mongoli, cazari, arabi, persiani, ottomani, russi e, infine, i sovietici.

Inizieremo nel suggestivo centro storico di Tbilisi, dove visiteremo una casa da tè sotterranea azera.
Ci dirigeremo verso un negozio gestito da una chiesa che vende prodotti direttamente dai monasteri ortodossi - bastioni di lunga data della produzione artigianale - qui assaggeremo alcune prelibatezze
Nelle strade secondarie vicino a Freedom Square visiteremo un insolito wine bar per una degustazione dei migliori produttori di vino su piccola scala della Georgia.
Visiteremo la chiesa più antica di Tbilisi, un tesoro architettonico e culturale.

This tour exceeded expectations in every way. Our guide, Tamra, gave us the best possible first impression of Georgia, the people, the culture, and the history. The information provided and the robust discussion definitely enhanced our overall experience. The food…I can’t even describe how much we all enjoyed it. Not only the taste, but learning about the traditions and importance of certain dishes. I am not going to embarrass myself by trying to name the dishes (!), but suffice it to say the four of us did our best to clean every plate! Further, the pacing of this tour allowed us to fully enjoy each dish, and each tasting was given an appropriate amount of time and space between courses. Highly recommend this entire experience.
