Sadly we were not very well informed of the transportation from the port to the train. Although we arrived at the taxi area with plenty of time to catch the train we had difficulty getting a cab or an uber. Either they didn’t show up or they didn’t accept credit card payment. Attempts to reach the tour guide proved difficult as there was no phone number to call. Email was the only form of communication e we could find. By the time we got a response to the email sent, it was way too late to try to catchup with the tour. We found communication to be very limited in Italy. When we asked a question only a short answer was given, that was true through much of the trip. Must be a cultural thing. We’re heartbroken that we did not get to see the area we were to visit. ☹️
Sadly I can see how tourism has changed from May to June. Do you complain about taxi drivers with me? 😂 In few words: you booked the tour, you wrote me at 8,10 saying you were late (our meeting was at 8,30). I answered I could wait for you with the group and I waited. You didn't come. The day after you asked for refund saying you were heartbroken but you liked better to go to Portofino. And you wanted the refund. And I waited for you with the group. The rest of the people coming from your Cruiseship were on time. You were the only one who could not find a taxi, the rest came by taxi. My phone number Is in the Page of the tour. All the people who can read and are really interested in contacting me they do. You did not. So you went to Portofino and you want the refund. I don't think it's normal to write a feedback because you don't get a refund for what you haven't done because you were somewhere else. But maybe it's a cultural thing 😅
The tour guide never showed up. After we returned to the ship we were informed the guide had some emergency. Understandable however it would have been nice to know before we took a cab into town in the rain.
Dear Sirs, as you wrote you were aware that the guide had an emergency and she had no chance to inform you because......she was having an emergency and she was at the hospital. You never replied and you have been refunded. We hoped It was enough to refund you and to apologize. If she had the chance to inform you before taking the cab, She would have done that. For sure.
Our family of 5 adults were on a cruise that docked in Le Spezia for one day. We made a reservation for this guided tour to Cinque Terre with Veronica. If I could give Veronica a 6 star rating I would. She was incredible in every way. Assisted with purchasing our train and ferry tickets, was extremely knowledgeable of each town we visited providing fun, interesting and historical information everywhere we went. She also gave advise on where to do a little shopping and where we should go for a family lunch during the tour. Veronica was fantastic! I could not more highly recommend her.
We really enjoyed our tour of three villages located in the gorgeous Cinque Terre region of Italy. Our tour guide, Veronica was quite knowledgeable and also kind. We discovered and learned about the history highlights of Monterosso, Vernazza and Manarola.
This was an excellent tour. Beautiful coastline and small towns. When you think of Italy, this is what you think of. Our guide (Veronica) was excellent, on-time and organized.
Thank you so much ❤️
Veronica did a great job introducing us to 3 of the villages. She gave us great advice and showed us how to navigate the trains. She prepared us well for the following day of exploration on our own.
Fantastic villages! Veronica was wonderful and knowledgeable and suggested a wonderful way to return to La Spezia via beautiful Portovener.
Very beautiful area very popular and victim of its success. We visited the Cinque Terre by car ...expensive parking between 10 and 20 euros..To do by train or boat....to see.Seems to be many walks ...paid...it is Italy..
This was a great way to start our trip and learn how to ride their train system, visit the villages, find the best shops, café, views and restrooms. Our guide Veronica was wonderful, so informative, passionate, knowledgeable, helpful and made it a great experience. After our tour, we felt so comfortable exploring all the 5 villages of Cinque Terra and even Levanto.
Thank you so much, I am glad you had a great time, I am grateful for your kind feedback ❣️
Our group of 4 agreed that this was an average experience (at best) but definitely not worth our money. Veronica was just not an engaging tour guide and had absolutely no personality whatsoever. She gave us some information about the cities/areas that we visited, but I found myself envious of other tour guides nearby who were providing their groups with much richer information and details. Veronica kept stopping our group in direct sunlight when it was extremely hot outside instead of finding shaded areas. After 4 hours of enduring this, we were dehydrated and when I tried to provide her with this feedback, she argued that there wasn't any shaded area and that she could give us less information instead. She was clearly not receptive to the feedback. The final straw was when she gave us instructions to buy train tickets at a tabac shop across the street from where we had a lemoncello tasting but didn't bother to come over with us. We managed to purchase our ticket just fine; however, at the train station, she took our tickets to go validate them and barely came back in time for us to catch our train. We could have easily validated our own tickets upstairs on the terminal. Once she returned our tickets, we ran upstairs just in time to catch our train but for whatever reason, she stayed behind with other people in our tour group and didn't even notice that we had already gone ahead. I received a message from her once we were back on our cruise ship asking us where we were and that the train was leaving in 2 minutes!?! What? We already took the train back to La Spezia Centrale (at the time she instructed us to purchase our ticket), caught a cab back to the port terminal from there, and were already back on the cruise ship by then! We never saw the people who were also on the tour from our cruise to ask what happened but, clearly, Veronica did not even realize that 4 people from her group were gone. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this tour or guide after our experience.
Dear Hahn, thanks for your observations in this feedback. I am sorry if I made you dehydrated, when you told me It was 12 and we were standing in a quiter area, I wanted to save you from the crowd but sorry for that. - when I showed you the place to buy the train tickets, I was still assisting the other guests in the shop and considering you were ready, I didn't want to keep you waiting with us. For the other people of your group this was not a problem (just to go to the next shop and buy tickets together) but maybe it's been a problem for you. I did not realize that, sorry) Sometimes you see that it's not easy to make everyone happy. - lets get to the train station. I can see that when we are angry or upset, we can assume everything. Do you think I could not go upstairs to validate your ticket if a validator was there? There was no ticket validator upstairs, that Is why I took your ticket and went outside to validate them. I am impressed that you mention that you had gone ahead without saying nothing to me or to the other members of the group. This was a lack of respect to them but it's easy to see that you had to show your dissatisfaction. By the way, I stayed behind with you and the other people because the train terminal was totally in the sun, I am sure you realized that when you left the group without a bye bye.
