We had the most amazing full day trip. Figo our driver and guide for the morning trip was wonderful, knowledgeable, polite, courteous and had a great sense of humour. Lunch at the lodge was good and the chance to relax for an hour or so was very welcome. Our boat trip in the afternoon was enjoyable despite the torrential downpours! A very long day but well worth it. This was advertised as a small group tour, we were lucky to have this tour to ourselves! Highly recommend.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 😊 We’re delighted to hear that you had such an amazing full-day experience with us. It’s great to know that Figo made your morning tour so enjoyable with his knowledge, courtesy, and sense of humour. Our guides truly love sharing the beauty and stories of Victoria Falls with our guests, so your kind words mean a lot. We’re also glad you enjoyed the lunch break at the lodge and had a chance to relax before continuing with the afternoon activities. Even with the torrential downpours, it’s wonderful to hear that the boat trip was still an enjoyable part of your adventure—sometimes the rain just adds to the true Victoria Falls experience! 🌧️🌊 How lucky that the tour turned out to be private for the day! That often makes the experience even more special and personal. Thank you for recommending us, and we truly appreciate you choosing Cuckoo Safaris. We hope to welcome you back again for another unforgettable adventure in Victoria Falls!
We went in November, leaving Victoria Falls. It was an amazing day. I have done several safaris and this option of starting on land and ending at sea is an extra very nice that I recommend to everyone. We've seen a lot of elephants, giraffes, lions, hippopotams, crocodiles, antelopes. Lunch takes place at a buffet in a super beautiful hotel. Visiting the chobe is a great idea.
We booked a private tour for three for a 5D4N tour, covering Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe and Zambia) and Chobe Safari in Botswana. Key highlights include Water and Land Safari in Botswana ( by Puku Tour) and the Victoria Falls plus the helicopter ride (additional charges). Accommodation at Pioneers Lodge was great. We also enjoyed the school visit and interaction with a Zimbabwe chieftain. We found Cuckoo service rather haphazard. Late to pick us up from the airport until we WhatsApp them. We were passed around different agencies in handling our transports, including the last day when we departed Zimbabwe. We felt they lacked sincerity albeit having the ability to arrange for all the visits. Use them if you are more c
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the incredible sights of Victoria Falls, the exhilarating helicopter ride, and the unforgettable land and water safaris in Chobe. It's great to know you had a comfortable stay at Pioneers Lodge and found the cultural experiences, like the school visit and meeting with the local chieftain, meaningful and enriching. We also truly appreciate your candid feedback regarding the logistical challenges you faced. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and are taking your comments seriously as we work to improve our communication and coordination with partner agencies. Your input helps us grow and deliver a smoother, more cohesive experience for future travelers.
Absolutely worth the day if you're staying in Victoria Falls! This Chobe day trip was the perfect way to experience both sides of the park—on land and by water—with incredible wildlife viewing from start to finish. The logistics are a bit complex, with multiple handoffs between tour operators (we had Cuckoo Safaris on the Zimbabwe side and Puku Tours in Botswana). Communication during transitions was minimal, but everything ran smoothly, and it’s clear they’ve done this countless times. Trust the process and don’t be thrown by the quiet handoffs—it all comes together. The day starts early with a drive through Zambezi National Park, which felt like a mini night safari—we saw hyenas, giraffes, and more before even reaching the Botswana border. Once in Chobe, we had a thrilling game drive, tracking lions and leopards off-road. After a hotel lunch and a two-hour break, we finished the day with a river safari, gliding past pods of hippos, elephants, and an unbelievable variety of birdlife—the boat brought us so close to the animals it felt surreal. Some of the vehicles and boats were more rugged than others we saw, but the guides’ knowledge and passion more than made up for it. This is the best option from Victoria Falls to experience Chobe in a single day. Next time, we’re staying longer—but this was the perfect intro.
Hi Thank you for your feedback and taking your time to review us. We are happy to here that you had a wonderful safari time, thank you for choosing Cuckoo Safaris as we look forward to host you.
We had Gift as our safari guide and when I say he was amazing it’s doesn’t come close to describing his knowledge and expertise as a guide. We were so fortunate to have him as our guide and I can’t recommend him enough…thank you so much Gift.
Hi Thank you for your awesome feedback and taking your time to review us, we appreciate you for choosing Cuckoo Safaris, we looking forward to host you again.
Excellent experience, very punctual and concerned about everything. On the road that connects Zimbabwe with Botswana before reaching the border we were able to see a large number of animals, buffaloes, elephants, zebras and even a leopard, all thanks to the fact that the tour starts earlier than the rest. Once inside the park we could see lionesses, many elephants, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, among others. Our driver was constantly in communication by radio, which allowed us to know where the animals were moving. Fully recommended.
Hi Thank you, for sharing your safari experience with Cuckoo Safaris we pride in our guests smile and joy, we look forward to your return.

Hi Thank you for your feedback your review is most appreciated. Thank you for booking with Cuckoo Safaris we look forward to your return.
My family and I absolutely loved our extended day tour to Chobe National Park with Cuckoo! To be fully transparent, though we booked with Cuckoo and they drove us to the Botswana border, the tour was actually provided by Puku Safaris - as I understand it, they have some partnership and work together. Either way, it was a marvelous experience and I highly recommend the extended day - yes it means getting up before the crack of dawn and it's a marathon of a day - but it's so worth it for the wildlife experience. We lucked out by seeing not only one lion but an entire pride. There must have been close to 20 lions! It seemed like we were able to stay twice as long as the other tours there because we had more time to spare. We also got up close with giraffes, elephants - SO MANY ELEPHANTS - and on the river cruise, crocodiles. Our guide Cobra was fabulous - he seemed to be a local celebrity the way everyone knew him. He was funny and informative. The buffet lunch was delicious. Cuckoo/Puku made the experience - including crossing over into Botswana - seamless. Cuckoo was very communicative and answered my many questions prior to the trip. I could not have imagined a better day trip safari!
Hi Thank you so much for your awesome review and taking your time to give us your feedback. Just to clarify Cuckoo safaris and Puku safaris are one company using a different trading name in Botswana. It was our pleasure to host you on a journey to discover Africa, thank you again.
Very smooth from pick up at hotel through immigration Botswana to Chobe park. Drive through Chobe in morning, lunch then boat down Chobe river. I had the same guide throughout and he was very informative. Pick up at hotel at 5:45am and drop off just after 8:00 pm.
Hi Pharaoh Thank you for your great review and sharing the great memories you had Africa . We strive to meet and exceed our guests expectations.
