Il Wat Rong Khun è la migliore attrazione di Chiangrai, fondata nel 1997 dall'artista più famoso della Thailandia chiamato Chalermchai Kositpipat. Questo è un tempio unico che risalta per il colore bianco e l'uso di pezzi di vetro nell'intonaco, scintillanti al sole. Il colore bianco indica la purezza del Buddha e l'architettura del tempio combina il moderno design tailandese e Lanna Thai che simboleggia il paradiso buddista.
Il Triangolo d'Oro è il confine di 3 paesi uniti; Thailandia, Myanmar e Laos, in un unico posto. Si trova a 9 chilometri a nord di Chiang Saen lungo la strada lungo il fiume Mekong. Sop Ruak è il luogo in cui il fiume Mekong, al confine tra Thailandia e Laos, incontra il fiume Ruak, al confine tra Thailandia e Myanmar. In passato, il Triangolo d'Oro era la principale fonte mondiale di traffico di droga grazie alla sua posizione privilegiata collegata a molti paesi. Tuttavia, attualmente è curato e diventa una popolare attrazione turistica. Dal punto di vista, i turisti troveranno la terra che collega i tre paesi, circondata dal lungo e calmo fiume Mae Kong.
La costruzione del tempio è stata avviata dalla comunità locale nel 1996 per sostituire un vecchio tempio abbandonato che precedentemente si trovava sul sito, anche se la costruzione non è iniziata fino al 2005. Il suo progetto finale è stato realizzato dall'artista locale Sala Nok. Wat Rong Suea Ten si traduce in “Casa della tigre danzante”. Il tempio prende il nome dalle tigri che un tempo vagavano per la zona. L’immagine del Buddha nella cappella è alta più di sei metri e risale al 2008. Si chiama Buddha Rajamongkol Bodhi Trilokanat.
Wat Huay Pla Kang è stato fondato nel 2005, progettato da un vero visionario, il che spiega il suo stile insolito, noto per la sua architettura unica, costruita in stile cinese-Lanna. Il tempio ha tre luoghi principali da sperimentare come; - La statua di Guanyin è una delle principali attrazioni, erroneamente chiamata la Grande Signora Buddha, Guan Yin era la leggenda della dea buddista di cui è un'importante divinità nella scuola buddista Mahayana. In questa parte possiamo prendere l'ascensore fino alla cima della statua al 25-26 piano e vedere la vista di Chiang Rai dalla testa della statua di Guanyin.
La sorgente termale di Mae Khachan si trova a metà strada da Chiangmai a Chiangrai ed è circondata dalle montagne. È classificata come una delle migliori sorgenti termali del nord e non ha solo una vista meravigliosamente naturale del nord, ma anche molte cose interessanti all'interno delle quali attirare visitatori sia tailandesi che stranieri. C'è una bella acqua minerale per i piedi da immergere nel suo giardino per rilassarsi, e i viaggiatori possono anche comprare uova di gallina da far bollire nell'acqua calda naturale e prendere un buon caffè dalle terre alte di Chiangrai.

It was a long 13-hour day, but a truly memorable experience! Our guide, M, was excellent. He drove safely, kept the car spotless and well air-conditioned, and provided us with cold water and tasty local snacks throughout our journey. He also regularly checked in to see if we needed bathroom or stretch breaks, which made the long drives much more manageable. Our first stop was the Thaweesin Chiang Rai Hot Springs. We got the opportunity to soak our feet in the warm thermal water which was very relaxing. Every now and then a straight stream of water would shoot up in the air by the entrance to this place, a chance to take an awesome photo! Be sure to visit the roti food stand where the owner will make fresh roti with all sorts of fillings. We shared the banana roti which tasted amazing! The temples were stunning, especially the Blue Temple, which was our favorite of the day. The boat ride on the Mekong River was a fun and unique experience. Although the Laos border was closed that day and we couldn’t cross over, we still really enjoyed learning about the Golden Triangle’s history and seeing the point where three countries meet. M our tour guide took lots of fantastic photos of us, a perk of choosing a private guide over a public one. You can ask as many questions as you want and the pace is yours only. Overall, we’re glad we did the tour, but it’s definitely a long haul. If you have the time, we’d recommend spreading it out over two days for a more relaxed pace. Still, it was a fantastic way to see some of Northern Thailand’s most iconic landmarks in a single trip.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with Mr. Big on 2/7/25. Picked us up at hotel, drove to all destinations while chatting with us in learning more about Thailand. He took us around the popular temples in bypassing the tour bus crowds while taking our pictures which looked professional. The boat ride to Golden Triangle and Laos was exceptional, having beer and exploring the market with its different knockoff items. Was a very long day that ended 13 hours after it started. I highly recommend Mr. Big for your tour guide to ask for. A good guide!!

John was my fabulous guide. He was like a walking encyclopedia with lots of information. He was patient, a great photographer, cab driver, and humorous. The tour is one of the highlights of my trip . The WHITE temple was gorgeous! Ask for John if possible.
