Costruito tra il 14° e il 15° secolo, questo imponente e famoso tempio è noto per avere lo stupa più grande della città. Oltre al suo imponente chedi, Wat Chedi Luang era anche la casa del Buddha di smeraldo che ora è ospitato nel Wat Phra Kaew a Bangkok. Rispetto al Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phan Tao sembrerà di dimensioni piuttosto modeste. Tuttavia, non lasciarti ingannare dalle sue dimensioni! Questo piccolo tempio è realizzato in legno di teak finemente intagliato. Un tempo era anche una sala del trono per il re Mahotara Prateth prima di diventare una casa di preghiera dedicata.
Questo splendido e sontuoso edificio fu costruito nel 14° secolo ed è conosciuto come uno dei templi più belli della città. The tour name is deceiving because we did not receive a tour of the Old City. Instead it was walking into 20+ temples in two complexes within the Old City. The tour guide was friendly and professional. She spoke English; however, she had such a strong Thai accent that it was difficult to understand her.

We had a wonderful time walking through the old city of Chiang Mai. Annie was a wonderful tour guide giving us the history of the old city and the kings who ruled it. She explained to us in detail what every temple signified and the application of Buddhism to the place. I highly recommend you book a tour with this group and you will never be disappointed with a guide like her.

This was the worst tour that I’ve taken in Thailand and I’ve been on several in 4 years. Guide talked too much and we walked 200 meters in 1 hour 45 minutes.

I bailed out after less than an hour of what was supposed to be a three-hour guided tour. Don’t waste your money. You’d be better off just walking between the three sites in your own time, they are easy to find on Google Maps.
