Escursione a Wat Pha Lat, il tempio nascosto della foresta su Doi Suthep. Questo tempio segreto è una bellissima oasi di pace, in un giardino con bellissime statue. Poi visita il Tempio Doi Suthep, il tempio buddista drappeggiato d'oro, uno dei templi più sacri della Thailandia settentrionale. Godetevi la vista panoramica dalla cima della montagna sulla città. IMPORTANTE : Questo tour è gestito con un tipico “songthaew” tailandese, offrendo un’autentica esperienza di viaggio locale. Un songthaew è un pick-up convertito con due panche nella parte posteriore, lati aperti, e senza aria condizionata. È il modo più comune per la gente del posto di spostarsi in città come Chiang Mai e aggiunge al fascino di esplorare la Thailandia in un modo veramente thailandese. Il songthaew (furgone pick up) ci lascia al punto di partenza dell'escursione da dove iniziamo a camminare verso Wat Pha Lat. Il Sentiero del Monaco è un sentiero forestale storico sulle pendici di Doi Suthep vicino a Chiang Mai. Il sentiero conduce attraverso la giungla al tranquillo tempio Wat Pha Lat. Il nome deriva dai monaci buddisti che tradizionalmente usavano questo sentiero per camminare tra i templi e la città prima che esistessero le strade moderne. NOTE : Il sentiero dei monaci è generalmente considerato un’escursione facile (30 - 45 minuti) per persone in condizioni fisiche normali. Tuttavia, alcuni tratti del sentiero sono irregolari e possono essere leggermente ripidi o scivolosi, soprattutto dopo la pioggia. Mentre la maggior parte dei partecipanti completa l'escursione senza difficoltà, alcuni ospiti potrebbero trovarla un po 'più faticosa. Questo tour non è adatto a ospiti con problemi di mobilità. Nascosto nella lussureggiante foresta alle pendici di Doi Suthep si trova uno dei templi più tranquilli della Thailandia settentrionale: Wat Pha Lat. Spesso definito il “tempio della giungla” di Chiang Mai, è anche il punto di arrivo del noto sentiero dei monaci. Costruito nel 1355, Wat Pha Lat ha un'atmosfera molto diversa dai templi più affollati della regione. Circondato da una fitta giungla, il complesso del tempio si fonde magnificamente con l'ambiente naturale circostante. Antichi edifici in pietra, scale coperte di muschio, intricate sculture, statue di Buddha e piccoli santuari sono sparsi per il parco, creando un ambiente sereno e quasi mistico. Un piccolo ruscello scorre attraverso la zona del tempio, con ponti in pietra e angoli tranquilli che invitano i visitatori a fermarsi e riflettere. Con la sua atmosfera tranquilla e la splendida cornice forestale, è facile capire perché molti visitatori descrivono Wat Pha Lat come una delle vere gemme nascoste di Chiang Mai.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep è considerato uno dei luoghi di pellegrinaggio più sacri della Thailandia. Al tempio si accede tramite la cosiddetta “scala del drago”, una scalinata con più di 300 gradini fiancheggiata da un “Naga”: un mitico serpente con sette teste. Invece di camminare fino in cima, puoi anche prendere la funivia (costi non inclusi). Una volta che sei nel parco del tempio vedrai statue, pagode, santuari, campane e disegni buddisti all'interno. Il chedi originale ricoperto di rame è la parte più sacra del tempio. Imparerai di più sulla storia di questo tempio e sul significato dei dipinti sul muro, raffiguranti la vita di Buddha. Affacciato su Chiang Mai dal suo alto trespolo, a 1053 metri sul livello del mare, il tempio è meglio visitarlo nei giorni senza nuvole o foschia di calore; la vista della città e della valle del Ping oltre è mozzafiato. Successivamente verrai riportato al tuo hotel. Il tempo totale include il tempo di viaggio per Chiang Mai.

Ritiriamo solo da hotel e alloggi situati all'interno della Città Vecchia di Chiang Mai o direttamente accanto alle mura della Città Vecchia. Se il tuo hotel o Alloggio si trova al di fuori di questa zona, devi incontrare il gruppo di fronte al Burger King a Thapae Gate (la porta orientale della Città Vecchia) a Chiang Mai. NON scegliere un hotel a caso dalla lista se non sei un ospite di quell'hotel. I partecipanti che hanno diritto al ritiro in hotel devono essere consapevoli del fatto che il ritiro inizierà fino a 45 minuti prima dell'orario di inizio del tour previsto.

- Il sentiero dei monaci da/per Wat Pha Lat è generalmente considerato un’escursione facile (circa 30 - 45 minuti) per persone in condizioni fisiche normali. Tuttavia, alcuni tratti del sentiero sono irregolari e possono essere leggermente ripidi o scivolosi, soprattutto dopo la pioggia. This was an excellent tour of the Doi Suthep Temple & Wat Pha Lat. Both of these temples are special, unique and different from the temples in the Old City. Wat Pha Lat is a complex of temples and buildings in the jungle. We then hiked down the Monk's trail which was very scenic. I am glad we hiked down the mountain instead of some tours that hike up the mountain. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. My only recommendation is to be transported in an air conditioned van and not in the back of the red truck (taxi). It was hot, muggy, noisy and the smell of the exhaust.

Jane met us on time at the hotel with a famous red taxi driver. We then travelled all the way to the highest temple. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped us understand a lot of the history and religions behind the temples. We had a fantastic time and would thoroughly recommend Jane as a guide. She often does city guiding too.
