Chelsea e la High Line di New York Architettura Walking Tour

Descrizione

I am going into school for architecture next year. Our guide Ivan, provided an experience that I won’t forget, going into detail and really explaining the evolution and future of the high line.
Many thank to you and your family for joining our tour. I hope the tour inspired you and you can apply what you learned and experiences to your projects and career as a future architect. Good luck for your studies next year!
We took the Chelsea/High Line tour with Ivan. It’s not often that you can book a tour with a guide who has Ivan’s experience and knowledge. We took our grandson, who will be starting his studies of architecture in August. Ivan provided information and details about some of the buildings that parallel the High Line, along with the history of this area of lower Manhattan. The history can explain how some of the architecture came about. We all learned so much in the time we spent on the tour, and we were already discussing taking another after our grandson’s first year of study. We gave this tour 5 stars, but would give more if it were an option. Thanks Ivan!
Thank you for your wonderful review! I'm so happy you and your family enjoyed our tour. Looking forward to seeing you at our next ones. All the best!
Without question, this was most impactful tour I've ever taken in New York City. (We actually completed 2 different tours with Ivan). What made it exceptional wasn't just the depth of architectural knowledge—it was the way Ivan, our guide, completely changed how I see the city. I now notice the history, design, and stories behind buildings I had walked past countless times before. His impressive professional and academic background is evident throughout the tour. As a professor of architecture at Columbia University, he combines extraordinary expertise with a genuine passion for teaching. His enthusiasm is contagious, making complex ideas engaging and accessible to everyone. I took the tour with my boyfriend's daughter, who is studying architecture in Europe. He was incredibly generous in offering advice and encouragement as she continues her studies, a kindness that speaks volumes about his dedication to mentoring future architects. This was so much more than a tour—it was an inspiring experience that has forever changed the way I experience New York City. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Thank you, dear Rosa Maria and Matilde, for joining me on our tours and for your amazing review! It was such a pleasure meeting you and enjoying a few days in New York together. I'm so happy you enjoyed the experience and feel transformed by it. You'll be looking at our world on new ways now. I hope you'll come back to NYC soon again so we can explore another part of our amazing city together. Please let me know if you need any help in the future. All the Best!
Good trip! It's my first time going through the entire High Line.
Thanks! The High Line is a wonderful place to experience in New York. We look forward to seeing you at some of our next yours. Enjoy NYC!
It was very interesting and insightful experience! Highly recommend. Thank you Ivan.
Thanks a lot for joining our tour! We look forward to seeing you again soon. Enjoy NYC!
For a long time, I wanted to explore the city in a different way since I’ve been in New York for about 13 years and finally, I found the best way to do it and that was through Ivan’s architecture/history tour, it is amazing to go over the landmarks and the history of NYC with someone as knowledgeable as Ivan, the highline tour was incredible, I had no idea how important it was for the economy of the country, and also it was funny the story about the West side Cowboys. I highly recommend this store for anyone interested in knowing in deep the history of this amazing city.
Thanks a lot for joining us on many of our tours! You officially completed a NYC architecture marathon. I'm so happy you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again soon this summer. Cheers
We had a fantastic tour with Ivan who was knowledgeable, funny, and even incorporated new details into the tour moulded to our interests. Although we are architectural laymen, the tour was informative and nothing went over our heads; Ivan ensured that both experts and newbies were accommodated alike. If we had more time in the city we would've have certainly booked onto another tour. A great way to see the city from a series of different perspectives.
Thanks, dear Hugh! I'm so happy that as a true connoisseur and historian you enjoyed our tour. I look forward to welcoming you again on our tours next time you visit New York. Have a nice trip back to London!
This is the fourth tour I have done with BuildTours in NYC. Ivan is so knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his knowledge about the history of the area, the HighLine, the buildings around it, their respective architects and pertinent aspects of construction and planning permission details for those that are interested. He very much tailors the contents to the tour group which is why they are small. I had done the HighLine before but I got do much more out of it this time before it having been a busier time of day. Will be back again for sure when next in NYC.
Thank you for your kind words, dear Ellen! It was a pleasure having you and your son on our tour, all the way from Australia. I look forward to seeing you and your family again next time you visit New York. We have 12 tours so you have 8 more to go. Enjoy NYC and have a nice trip back home! Ivan
This was an experience far beyond our expectations. We’d walked the High Line before but every aspect of this tour gave us historical and contemporary information and references even my husband ( an historian) did not know. It was comprehensive, well timed, and a revelation. We can’t wait to go back for the other tours offered by build.tours!
Thank you, dear Andrea! I'm so happy you, Eric and your friend enjoyed the tour. I look forward to seeing you soon at our next tours when you return to NYC and exploring some other neighborhoods together.
I have to admit being skeptical about an Architectural tour being primarily on the highline, but I was pleasantly surprised at the vast knowledge of information Ivan shared Both my adult daughter and I very much enjoyed ourselves There were only eight of us on the tour so that certainly gave us personal attention, and the headsets were an added bonus to be able to hear Ivan when he was not looking your way I’m confident I will be taking another tour with Build Tours. Philomena
Many thanks for joining us on my tour, dear Philomena! It was a pleasure meeting you and your daughter. I look forward to seeing you on our next tour to continue exploring and enjoying NYC together. Ivan
