2 TOUR ESTREMI IN OFFERTA. INIZIA NELLE NUBI E FINE SULLA LUNA. CHACALTAYA - Era un comprensorio sciistico, con un solo ascensore meccanico, posto sopra un ghiacciaio, chiamato anche Chacaltaya. Inoltre, c'erano un ristorante e uno chalet per i turisti. Molti visitatori sono andati in montagna tutto l'anno. Era un intrattenimento comune per le classi medie e alte, che trascorrevano le loro giornate lì. VALLE DE LA LUNA - un labirinto di canyon e guglie giganti. Le formazioni, composte principalmente da argilla e arenaria, sono state create dalla persistente erosione delle montagne da parte dei forti venti e piogge della zona. Una delle caratteristiche più mozzafiato di Valley de la Luna è il suo variegato pallet, che va dai toni del beige chiaro alle sezioni di rosso e viola scuro. Questo fenomeno naturale è dovuto alla grande varianza del contenuto minerale tra ogni singola montagna, creando composizioni colorate e impressionanti illusioni ottiche sui pendii erosi.

La stazione sciistica di Chacaltaya si trova ad un'altitudine di 5.375 m (17634 piedi) sul livello del mare. È la stazione sciistica più alta del mondo, o meglio lo era. Vedrai i resti di quella che era la stazione sciistica più alta del mondo. Farai un trekking massimo di 2 ore fino al resort, dove vedrai viste mozzafiato su La Paz e sulle catene montuose circostanti. La guida spiegherà la storia del luogo e ti condurrà in luoghi in cui dovrai scattare cartoline fotografiche!
Valle de La Luna (Valle della Luna), formazioni di guglie di roccia e argilla erose da una Montagna che era una delle cose che Neil Armstrong vide quando era sulla luna. Secondo le guide locali, Valley de Luna ha ricevuto il suo nome dopo che Neil Armstrong apparentemente ha visitato il sito e ha osservato come il paesaggio somigliasse a quello della luna. Absolutely one of my highlights in Bolivia! Where in the world can you get up to an altitude of 5400m above sea level without any mountain climbing equipment!!! Spectacular! I am 62 ! If I can do it , you can do it too. Moon valley is quite amazing tii
The Guide Ricardo was very friendly and attentive, but the stay time at the Chacaltaya was only 1 hour, unlike what is stated in the description, which ended up being a little frustrating for not giving time to go to the second summit as well as taking photos. The whole tour in both places ended up being very busy and we chose to stay in Vale de la Luna, dispensing the Guide, to enjoy the place more because 1 hour is not enough.
Ricardo is an excellent guide, fluent in English and Spanish. Knowledgeable about the mountains and many other things Bolivia. Also David is a phenomenal driver!
It's a pretty rough road to get to Chacaltaya, but the driver seemed to know what he was doing. Unfortunately when we arrived it started snowing hard so there wasn't much to see, but the experience was great nonetheless. Our guide was great, with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. He gave some interesting facts about the mountain and the history of Valle de la Luna. The only negative is that they were a bit late picking us up in the morning. For the price it was more than worth it!
The company told me the day before that this tour was not available despite my reservation. They offered me another interesting ride. However, I was sick because of the altitude and they had to meet a doctor by chance to finally give me oxygen. Although I was severely ill at the beginning of the tour, they continued to climb even higher and my condition worsened. I didn't feel my health was the priority of this company.
I had booked this experience and planned my trip accordingly. The evening before the trip, they cancelled the whole trip, although I had gotten a final confirmation upon booking. Not a serious organization, dont book there!!!!!
Many apologies, for your time and changing your plans. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we did not have any other tourists for that tour on that day. we waited until the last moment not to cancel but we didn't get it...sorry

We started by Valle de Luna and it was nice. It is quite simple and the tour takes around 1 hour. Ya Chacaltaya was pretty legal. The climb is intense but nothing impossible and the view from above compensates for all the effort. I recommend taking the Sorojchi pill because it is too high and the head hurts. Always have water and some snack.

The tour was punctual contacted us to indicate the meeting point, we set off with little expectation for the weather, but when we arrived we were surprised to see the wonderful place. You need to wear boots if you want to reach the top, otherwise you can wait in a restaurant until everyone finishes the tour, you must also wear quite warm and waterproof clothes. The guide tells us in detail the characteristics of the place , as a suggestion the place does not have an adequate bathroom in chacaltaya .
