No refund or reply from company :(
Unfortunately the company did not respond to my request to change the date and it is impossible for a refund less than 24 hours prior. Make sure you realize how long it takes to get to this location as if you’re on the other side of Istanbul like in the European site it can take over 45 minutes with traffic. I wish they would respond to messages, even with a “no”. I just ended up purchasing another ticket and going to a different show.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience.
We would like to clarify that the cancellation and change policy for this experience is clearly stated at the time of booking. Unfortunately, requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled experience cannot be refunded or changed, as the tickets and reservations have already been confirmed with the venue.
We understand that Istanbul traffic can sometimes cause delays, and we always recommend allowing sufficient travel time to reach the meeting point.
We regret that you were unable to attend the experience. However, the booking and cancellation conditions were applied according to the policy of the experience.

If you are looking for a depressive mood - you will find it here!!!
We have never experienced such a sad, depressing performance!
First, nearly 30 minutes of Quran recitations are presented, similar to an Imam with a terribly monotonous voice, along with Quran texts projected on a screen.
Then the actual performers come on stage and appear extremely serious and withdrawn, both in their expressions and in their movements. We were almost brought to tears. LOL
Several glances around the audience confirmed our impression. Out of sheer politeness, we endured this boring tragedy for 45 minutes for an outrageous €72 and were glad to finally leave.
One really does not need to put oneself through such an experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that the Whirling Dervish Ceremony may not be for everyone. However, it is not a dance show or entertainment performance, but a centuries-old spiritual Sufi ritual. The chants, music, and the serious expressions of the dervishes are intentional and symbolize meditation, humility, and a spiritual connection with God. Many visitors find the experience peaceful and meaningful, while others may prefer a more traditional cultural show. We appreciate your visit and wish you all the best 🙏🏻

Watch the video - it's a long hour.
We went to the hour long show and the last 20 minutes are the most interesting. The first 30 the band plays and sings and it's not very interesting. While I'm glad I went, only the ending with the whirling dervish was interesting. My suggestion, YouTube the videos and save your hour.

Sema Performance is...
Sema Performance is really interesting introduction into the Sufi practices. I did not feel too touristic and I had the feeling that the people were true believers rather than performers. I didn’t know about whirling dervish. So this is a good place to start and very mesmerising for me.
Risposta dell'operatore
It sounds like you had a deeply meaningful and authentic experience with the Sema Performance and the whirling dervishes! The Sema ceremony is indeed a profound spiritual practice rooted in Sufi traditions, and it’s wonderful that you felt the sincerity and devotion of the participants rather than a sense of commercialism. The whirling dervishes, who are followers of the Mevlevi order founded by the poet Rumi, use their turning as a form of meditation and connection to the divine. It’s mesmerizing not just visually, but also in its spiritual depth. If you’re interested in learning more, exploring Rumi’s poetry or the philosophy behind Sufism could be a great next step. I’m glad you found it to be such a meaningful introduction!

You should definitely join
I had the opportunity to attend a whirling dervish performance, and I can honestly say I was completely mesmerized. The show was a stunning blend of spirituality and art. The whirling of the dervishes felt like a reflection of the rhythm of the universe and inner peace. The atmosphere created by the music was truly captivating. I highly recommend everyone experience this at least once in their lifetime. It’s a wonderful opportunity to relax your soul and immerse yourself in a unique cultural experience!

Your description of the whirling dervish performance is absolutely beautiful and captures the essence of this profound spiritual practice so well! It’s incredible how the whirling dervishes, through their graceful movements and the accompanying music, can evoke such a deep sense of connection to the universe and inner peace. The Sema ceremony is indeed more than just a performance—it’s a meditation, a prayer, and a journey into the heart of Sufi spirituality. I’m so glad you found it mesmerizing and soul-nourishing. Your recommendation is spot on; experiencing this unique blend of art, culture, and spirituality is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt reflection! 🌸
