I mainly booked this because I wanted to stay at a Nubian hotel but didn’t have time, so this helped us experience Nubian culture. Our guide Alaa Din made sure we had a great time! Dinner was really delicious. He tailored our experience after dinner to us. The only thing I would do differently is wear bug spray

We booked this tour on Get Your Guide and it was quite enjoyable. Alaa Elfashny contacted us via WhatsApp and asked us what protein we would like for dinner. We later met him at the meeting place at the appointed time and drove a short distance to the waiting abra. We boarded and had a lovely scenic cruise for about a half hour to the Nubian Village, seeing other boats and tours along the way, while Alaa talked to us about Egypt. Upon arriving at the village Alaa led us up the hill to a nice Nubian restaurant where we enjoyed a good meal -- way more food than we could eat. We continued our visit with Alaa during dinner and then returned to the boat for the return ride back to Aswan and then a short drive back to the beginning point. Alaa is very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour. We had expected to visit a Nubian home but did not, and we would have liked to have had that experience.

Had a great time at this tour. The guide Karam is welcoming and knowledgeable. He contacted me weeks before the trip to organize everything and answer any of my questions. The nubian food was amazing! The market was cool. The guide actually helped us bargain for better deals! 100% recommended!

Unfortunately this was not was we expected. The guides (x2) that picked up my wife and I did not explain anything about the Nubian village or culture in general. They took us directly to the market where they simply walked alongside us in silence from shop to shop. A bit of interaction was offered when we entered a spice store where we got to sample (as we were going to buy some anyway) some of the Nubian spices. Dinner perhaps was the most awkward part as we set in an empty restaurant (although it was open air and it was quite a nice location, but around there they all are) and the guides sat and ate with us. No conversation was made during dinner, they sat there and ate the Nubian food we ate. But even before that, the guide ordered a large water, which he helped himself to, then offered to us. And then later was left for us to pay. Then one of them proceeded to open the YouTube app and entertain himself with some clips..while the other young girl sat there next to us, on her phone also. We offered them an early mark so they did not have to wait for us to finish eating in that uncomfortable setting. This could have been done for a fifth or less of the price by catching a motor boat from Aswan. Do not recommend, I know these peeps don’t offer refunds so I won’t bother asking but I’m giving you guys a heads up. There is better stuff out there than this. Worth noting, if you are going to do a 3/4 days Nile cruise they will probably offer you a not-on-the-menu US$30 Nubian experience that, on top of being cheaper than this one, it will take you to visit a Nubian school, a Nubian house (with crocs) and a beach on the Nile to take a dip. So check with your tour operator. Good luck!

Delightful dinner and walking tour with Shimma. She was a terrific guide! Food and atmosphere at the Nubian Palace were excellent. Night market was magical. Highly recommend this tour!

Excellent communication prior the tour, as we had several vegetarians in our group. Was an incredible experience within the Nubian Palace with Nubian music band, and great food, impossible to finish all. the hospitality of the Nubian family and guide were absolutely stunning.
