It’s worth the drive to Castelli Romano. Our visit was easy and very interesting. The grounds are gorgeous and the town square was welcoming with a view of the lake.
This tour greatly exceeded our expectations. I booked this to fill some time on our way from Rome to Naples. We were blow away by the beauty of the papal building and the stunning views. There is a large amount of history and we were very happy we stopped. The only downside was when my tickets were sent the day before they told me our entry time moved up 30 minutes. When I told them that was going to make things very tight and we might have to cancel because we were touring the Vatican that morning the tour operator stopped responding. That is the only reason this wasn’t 5 stars. I wouldn’t book with them again for that reason but absolutely spend time visiting here.
I was very annoyed. I paid €24 for my ticket and still had to stand in line at the counter with other visitors who did not have a ticket yet to exchange my ticket. On-site, the entrance only costs half, so I paid €12 for NOTHING!!! I will definitely never book anything through Tripadvisor again! The garden is absolutely not worth seeing, and I expected more from the palace as well.
Very interesting self-guided tour. And the small town itself is lovely and a short train ride from Rome. Well worth the visit.
Pontifical Palace in the heart of the Castelli Romani, the views of the landscape from the garden and windows are indescribable. The palace museum beautiful but nothing exceptional. I recommend going there in broad daylight to enjoy the view of the ponorama.

Castel Gandolfo is the summer residence of the popes since many years. It has beautiful gardens and easily reachable by train from Roma Termini

Beautiful visit to the Papal Palace and Secret Garden. We stayed there with my husband recently, 12 euros ticket really well spent. The place is elegant, not overly opulent nor overly lavish. The garden is well-kept and rich in plants and greenery. We were both 100% satisfied with it. Beautiful then the view that you can admire all around.

Visit to the papal villas with attached gardens. Hidden area in Castel Gandolfo, the place where the Pope spends his holidays. Realistic rooms well frescoed and with tapestries.
