Godremo di viste di paesaggi spettacolari, aspre catene montuose e dolci colline inclinate di campi di grano e colza che assomigliano un po 'alle onde di onde oceaniche dell'oceano. Ci fermiamo sopra il passo di Sir Lowry per un'opportunità fotografica e suggestivi panorami di False Bay che giace sotto. La nostra spedizione prosegue attraverso gli splendidi agrumeti verdi, dorati e marroni dell'overberg, fermandosi in una stalla della Fattoria per alcuni rinfreschi. Procediamo con il nostro viaggio attraverso Caledon, la settima città più antica del Sudafrica, centro agricolo della zona di Overberg e nota per le sorgenti termali ricche di ferro. Il nostro tour ci condurrà al Faro di Cape Agulhas, che è stato per oltre 150 anni come un accompagnatore marittimo sul famigerato "Cape of Storms", nella punta più meridionale dell'Africa. Questo punto d'incontro ufficiale dell'Oceano Indiano e dell'Oceano Atlantico è anche il punto di convergenza delle correnti del Mozambico e del Benguela. Visiteremo anche il museo del naufragio a Bredasdorp e i pinguini africani a Stony Point

Itinerario
Lasciamo Cape Town verso le 07:30 del mattino e guidiamo verso sud-est sulla N2 attraverso il passo di Sir Lowry in direzione Cape Overberg. Godremo di viste di paesaggi spettacolari, aspre catene montuose e dolci colline inclinate di campi di grano e colza che assomigliano un po 'alle onde di onde oceaniche dell'oceano. Ci fermiamo sopra il passo di Sir Lowry per un'opportunità fotografica e panorami mozzafiato di False Bay che giace sotto. La nostra spedizione prosegue attraverso gli splendidi agrumeti verdi, dorati e marroni dell'overberg, fermandosi in una stalla della Fattoria per alcuni rinfreschi. Procediamo con il nostro viaggio attraverso Caledon, la settima città più antica del Sudafrica, centro agricolo della zona di Overberg e nota per le sorgenti termali ricche di ferro sulle pendici dello Swartberg. Più avanti visitiamo il museo del naufragio a Bredasdorp. Ci sono stati circa 130 relitti al largo della costa del Capo Meridionale dal 1673. Questa pericolosa sezione della costa è conosciuta come il "Cimitero delle navi". Il Museo documenta anche la ricca storia della zona e ha una collezione di manufatti di relitti e una casa del tesoro di polene e scialuppe di salvataggio, porcellane, cannoni, ancore, vecchie bottiglie e monete provenienti da numerosi paesi europei.
Trascorreremo anche del tempo sulla spiaggia di Struisbaai con le sue acque calde e cristalline e l'atmosfera tropicale. Il punto è anche dove si incontrano l'Oceano Indiano e Atlantico.
Dopo una fantastica esperienza nella punta più meridionale dell'Africa, torniamo a Cape Town passando per la città di Hermanus famosa per l'osservazione delle balene e guidiamo attraverso la panoramica Clarence drive. Visitiamo i pinguini africani in via di estinzione nella riserva naturale di Stony Point se il tempo lo consente.

Picked up my A5 cabriolet at Audi Claremont and turned left...South African term for started my holiday...the drive over was nice and long upon arriving there the peace after the long drive was worth gold, seein how those waves crushed the boulders with force reminded me of how there will be no where to run to... there is a small interesting town there and nothing, not worth paying R7k, get a car and enjoy the drive
The true tip of Africa, not Cape Point, is well worth a visit and tastefully marked. A good place to propose as we saw one young couple become engaged across the two oceans! There are well marked trails in the area with some great sea views and a local lighthouse. A must visit if in the area. Not crazy hordes of coaches and tourists as at Cape Point (at least when we visited with a U3a group).

Elton is a treasure trove of South African history and more importantlu a delight to talk to. During our long drive out to Cape Agulhas, he helped us explore all the small towns and histories related to it. This gave us a view into the SA countryside. He was very courteous of our various requests to stop at photo points. A must tour if you want to have a frank and easygoing conversation with an amazing human being (and obviously the southern most point of the continent xD)

I had an amazing time during the tour, Elton was very knowledgeable and told me a lot of interesting facts about South Africa. The cape Aghulhas was great, impressive to see the two oceans side by side and the penguins were very cute. On the way back, elton went out of his way and drove along the coastline of false bay, wonderful view and wasn’t part of the tour initially, so very grateful for that experience. Would recommend that tour in addition to cape of good hope.
