Wonderful day in Kent. Touring Dover Castle, walking along the Cliffs of Dover and exploring Canterbury Cathedral. Eva and George made the day great. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful day spent touring Dover castle, walking along the cliffs of Dover, touring Canterbury cathedral and wandering around Canterbury. Lots of time at each stop to see everything. Eva and George were amazing.

Our tour guide was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We wish we could have spent more than 15 minutes looking at the cliffs. There was no time to walk out there and really see them. We enjoyed Dover Castle and Canterbury. You had plenty of time to explore both of those places.

Tour was wonderful. We had a great time! Beautiful all around. Kat was an amazing tour guide and took care of my mobility challenged mother with care!! Thank you for a wonderful day!!!

The 3 sights were fantastic - Dover Castle was very impressive, the White Cliffs were a marvel, and Canterbury Cathedral was awe inspiring. I’m so happy I took this trip. Anderson’s crew great. Amy our tour guide was very knowledgeable with lots of details. Our driver was great. He got us from place to place safely and quickly. This is a great tour.

Great way to get from London to see cliffs of Dover, Dover Castle, and Canterbury Cathedral. We were able to fit everything in at the Dover Castle, but we rushed and walked quickly. We did the longer World War II tunnel tour by getting in line immediately when upon arrival. We were the last ones accepted to that small group tour of 30.So some people had to wait and then that would’ve been all they would’ve been able to do. The different tunnel exit from the castle that is medieval is very interesting also. Because we did as much as we did, I was not able to read all of the signs that were in that tunnel. But it was very interesting. Cool seeing the castle in general. Lots of things to check out. And the Rapper’s on the outsider interesting also as well as the great views from up top. Though it was a bit hazy while we were there we were able to see France. Cliffs of Dover also beautiful. Again, we had a nice enough clear enough visibility that we were able to see France. Would have liked more time at the cliffs of Dover to walk further hike further. Some of the people in our group had mobility issues and there is no way they would’ve gotten to see as much. They could only go to the viewpoint and that was a struggle. We continued along some of the trail, but would have liked more time. I literally was running to get back to the bus. Our guy told us that they have left people there before who tried to hike down to the beach. So just note that. Canterbury Cathedral was nice. Beautiful church! They have free guides in the church, but I did not see them. That would’ve been something we should have asked our Anderson tour guide, Kat about. She was not able to go into the church with us. I’m not sure if we had time to do a guided tour in the church with one of the church representatives. There’s a nice crypt in the church also, though you are not able to take any pictures there. Some cool Roman ruins outside on the grounds as well as free public toilets. I picked up a retold more modern version of Canterbury tales in the church gift shop that was outside the church., but on the ground. They had several variations of it, including a Kids picture book. Gift shop had lots to look at if you want to support the area and the church. Canterbury Cathedral is UNESCO site. Saint Augustine’s Abbey is probably 10-15 minute walk from the cathedral and is also an UNESCO site. It’s approximately 15 pounds entrance fee. And then Martin’s church is further on from that. We did not have enough time we thought to be able to tour the Augustine, Abbey or to walk on to Saint Martin’s. Something else that’s in the vicinity, but the opposite direction is the Canterbury castle ruins. They are in the vicinity of where the bus drops you off, but opposite direction of the cathedral. Cat pointed out some different restaurants and pubs of note in Canterbury to stop at if you wanted to do that while you were there. Time is definitely limited though. The tour bus makes a toilet break on the way to Dover, but they do not make stops on the way back from Canterbury at all. Just know that and make use of a public toilet before you get on the bus to go back. If this tour were to change any, my request would be to have longer time at each of the stops. We are fit and fast walkers, and we still were pushing it to get things in in the time allotted. For us, Dover was the highlight and definitely where we would have liked longer. Oh, and one more thing: where the bus drops you at the Dover Castle, and at cliffs of Dover, there are steep inclines to either get up to the viewing or the castle or to get back down, depending on how you are. Again, we had someone with mobility issues on our bus that we wondered how much they were able to see because of the time it would have taken them to walk to the site.

This tour was so good the time flew away before I knew it. Andy was an exceptional tour guide, and very knowledgeable. Also, having the unexpected short walking tour in Canterbury town was a bonus at the end...thank you Andy!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, especially seeing the beautiful White Cliffs of Dover. We wished we’d had just a bit more time there to do the walk over to the cliffs. Unfortunately, the tour didn’t allow for that. It was also great to see Dover Castle and the Canterbury Cathedral, although we chose to explore each of them on our own as opposed to staying with the tour. I think we saw more of them by doing it that way. It was nice that was an option.

I wish I could give this tour a negative number rating - especially the guide, Ales. We booked directly through Anderson Tours for the Dover and Canterbury tour and were scheduled to be picked up at Victoria Station, Bus Stop L at 8 am on 8 July. 2026. I had to make several calls to your office because the bus did not pick us up at the appointed time though we were at the bus stop waiting at 7:30 am. The office knew we were there waiting because one nice lady who answered the phone helped us locate the bus stop and verified that we were in the right place 30 minutes early. The first time I called back at 8am, I was told the bus was on the way and must be in traffic. I knew there were other stops scheduled after ours, so I called again about 8:05 when we had not yet seen the bus and was told they would try to contact the driver and confirm he was on the way. At 8:10, I was told to call back in 10 minutes if the bus had not arrived. I did so and was told the driver had failed to stop at our location and could only return to get us after loading everyone else, but should be there shortly. “Shortly” ended up being about 9:00 - a full hour and a half after our arrival at the bus stop and after another Anderson driver had arrived for a different tour and tried to help us - unsuccessfully. He told us it was not uncommon for the office to miscommunicate with the drivers. The man on the phone during my multiple phone calls said I should email Anderson, and a partial refund could be considered, but every email I tried to send bounced back . When the bus finally arrived, the guide was not apologetic- kept saying “no worries” although I had been worried all morning. He assured everyone that the tour would not be shortened by the fact they had to come back to get us, but since we were sitting in the seats next to him, we witnessed him trying to reschedule things with Dover and Canterbury Cathedral since we would be close to an hour late to arrive those places. He told us the driver forgot to pick us up at our stop before going to London Bridge - blaming everything on the driver even though I saw a piece of paper in his hand with my name at the top and appearing to show my chosen pickup location. He should have accepted some responsibility, too. Once we were finally in our way, we passed several historic sites in London, but the only one our guide, Ales, chose to mention was a place connected to the Black Death. Then nothing but conversations with the driver about how to make up time and on his phone to the sites apparently to let them know ow we would be late. However, when we got to each site, it was apparent they were not expecting us. Ales told the bus he would give us information before we got to Dover but did not allow himself enough time to give us anything helpful. When we arrived, he took a group to the tunnels and left the rest of us on our own after giving us instructions when to return to the bus. He seemed to enjoy himself immensely at the White Cliffs - though the bus driver had to drop us off and return to the entrance since they were not expecting us - and actually gave us a bit of good information there - at least I think it was good. His preparatory comments for Canterbury were not good and historically inaccurate. When we arrived there, once again, they appeared not to be expecting us. He took us on what we expected to be an informative guided tour, but was instead a quick walk to the site of Thomas’ martyrdom, along with excuses about parts of the cathedral being closed. We gave up on him after that and took ourselves on a nice tour. Over all, the sites were all great, and we are glad we were able to see them, but we feel all we received from the tour was late transportation and bad information - and multiple advertisements for Ales’s standup comedy appearances. We would have been much better off finding public transportation to the sites. We have taken many tours in the past, including at least 10 others on this trip, but have never received such poor service.
