The tour provided a great amount of information on the events of D-Day and the remainder of the Normandy campaign from a Canadian perspective.
Super good guide who knew his subject thoroughly.
Excellent & moving tour especially as it was the day after the anniversary of D day. Every Canadian should visit & see the sacrifices our young men made. A slight problem with confused message on pickup location but all worked out.
Laurent (Wally) our guide was excellent and so knowledgeable. Though we booked a shared tour we were just our family of 4 and we learned so much in one day. We were picked up on time in a air conditioned van. Laurent started us off right away with fascinating stories and historical details. He showed us photos from the 40's and the same houses and stations at those sites today. He had so many stories of the events that unfolded at the various stops we made, this made it it so much more compelling. We were never rushed as we took in each stop on the tour and Laurent also gave us so many tips on things to see as we continued our trip beyond our tour. I would highly recommend Normandy Sightseeing Tours and Laurent as a guide. It's heavy stuff and Laurent was right at certain stops when he said I would need tissues. Our whole family was really impressed! Merveilleux!
Emmanuel, our tour guide and chauffeur, was a real pleasure to spend the day with. We visited the key sites and small towns that were significant for Canadian contributions to the war effort. Emmanuel had great knowledge of the visited sites and surrounding regions; in addition, he picked the best seafood restaurant for lunch along the ocean front. We left the tour feeling deeply moved by the experience, and the stories he shared. We would highly recommend this tour and Emmanuel.
I can’t recommend this tour enough…it’s a must see if you are interested in D-Day history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a wonderful companion for the day. All of us learned so much while enjoying ourselves.
Spend a wonderful day learning about the history of Juno beach and what the Canadian soldiers experienced. Stephan gave us fantastic insights into what transpired that day and how it related to the broader history of D-Day. In between, we also got to enjoy a great Normandy meal and spend time chatting about life in this part of France. He was particularly accommodating of our family needs, allowing and patiently switching between English and our admittedly mediocre French. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Definitely take a look if you are in the area and want a deeper understanding of the history with a personal guide.
He has a large book of pictures to compliment the experience. He is very knowledgeable and a great sense of humor.
I can honestly say this was the best guided tour I have been on, and I have been on many in my travels. Wally, our guide was extremely knowledgeable, an excellent teacher, and considerate of our needs. Of course it was an emotional day, because it was about the Canadian forces on D- Day and their courageous advance over the following months, but Wally’s sensitivity with a splash of humour helped. I learned and will remember. Thank you.
It was wonderful to visit the sights of Normandy. Heavy, emotional and wonderful all at once. An unforgettable experience.
