Dopo aver incontrato la tua Guida fuori dalla National Gallery, a Trafalgar Square, imparerai tutto sulla storia di questa piazza pubblica che commemora la battaglia di Trafalgar, una vittoria navale britannica nelle guerre napoleoniche su Francia e Spagna. Nel corso della sua storia, la piazza è stata luogo di proteste e manifestazioni che continuano ancora oggi.
La Colonna di Nelson è un monumento a Trafalgar Square, costruito per commemorare l'ammiraglio Horatio Nelson, morto nella battaglia di Trafalgar nel 1805.
Successivamente scoprirai la ricca storia e il patrimonio dell'Admiralty Arch, un edificio storico di Londra, che fornisce accesso stradale e pedonale tra il Mall e Trafalgar Square. Fu commissionato dal re Edoardo VII in memoria di sua madre, la regina Vittoria.
Si passerà poi a vedere la Horse Guards Parade a Whitehall, dove si vedranno i membri della cavalleria domestica, lì per proteggere l'ingresso ufficiale di St. James Palace e Buckingham Palace.
Successivamente, vedrai il bellissimo St. James’s Park, il più antico parco reale della città, noto per le sue impressionanti viste sul lago, i pellicani e le aiuole situate di fronte a Buckingham Palace.
Circondando St. James’s Park, vedrete Clarence House, una residenza reale britannica. È stata la casa della regina Elisabetta la Regina Madre dal 1953 al 2002, e da allora è stata la residenza ufficiale di Carlo, principe di Galles e di sua moglie Camilla, duchessa di Cornovaglia.

Nathan was terrific. Great tour.
Guy was our tour guide and did a wonderful job. He was knowledgeable, friendly and fun to be with. He knew so much about not only the history of the Guard, but of London in general. Very informative. Highly recommend.

Wow!!! Becky L was just amazing!! We learned so much about the changing of the guard! Got our steps in too!! 😆 As an American I highly recommend this tour! Our family had no idea of the intricacies of the changing of the guard and surly would have missed most of all the happenings!! Even our 8 year old enjoyed moving around the city following the guards!
Laurence was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about all the sites and was extremely funny. My husband and I had a great time on our tour and would do it again the next time we are in London!
Becky was absolutely amazing! She was energetic and engaging. Everyone from the kids to grandparents had a wonderful time. She had us in the best spots possible for every part of the tour allowing us to maximize our views/photos/etc. We wish we were able to do all of our tours in London with her!
Jamie was fantastic. Easily navigated the crowds to quiet places where we could listen to him share tales of the history of Britain, it’s Royal families, and the various palaces and buildings we passed along the way. Big highlight was watching the finish of the Changing of the Guard at St. James Palace. We were expertly positioned right up front and center. Jamie was a fantastic host and, if you take a tour, you should request him.
