Great afternoon with Tuone (spelling). I was the only one on the tour and learned some history of Calgary as well as see the street art. Thank you for a great afternoon.
(This review is for a tour that was taken during the rain-in good weather the tour may have been different.) The tour was scheduled for 4 adults, three beer drinkers and one not. I had verified before the trip with the company that I could exchange the flight for either cider or wine and it was confirmed as not problem. On arrival to the tour company we were greeted by Shawn, a very pleasant guide. He offered umbrellas and commented that due to the weather he didn't expect us to arrive. We had flown in the night before and it was past the cancellation policy so yes we arrived and planned to do the tour. He asked if we just wanted to go to the breweries or try to get the art murals in as well. We asked for the tour to be done as close to normal as possible. The first brewery, Bottlescrew Bills, was not expecting us because the tour leader had not made a reservation and was overheard telling them that he didn't think we would show up. We were shown to a table and waited 45 minutes to be given the flights. The waitress knew little to nothing about the beers and the tour guide was unaware of the arrangement for a substitute wine/cider for one. The flights finally arrived, the waitress had no idea which beer was which and the orders were wrong so we waited again for that to be corrected. The wine was swapped in place of a flight, which I appreciated. We spent an hour and fifteen minutes sitting at this incompetent brewery with terrible service and lack luster beer. We did see roughly 10 murals/pieces of art during the tour-we were expecting more murals based on the description. The murals are interesting but spread out. The next brewery was The Last Best. The atmosphere and the wait staff were much better. The cider was canned and not good. The flights were slightly better but overall not really impressive. The bulk of the tour was sitting in the two breweries, a significant amount of walking between scattered murals and statues. I also found it odd that the tour guide was drinking the flights. We have been on several food tours and this was a first for the guide to actually partake of the beer and or food. We were the only 4 that showed up for the tour so it was slightly uncomfortable in that respect also. I could not recommend this tour if what we experienced is the norm. It is possible it was altered due to the weather, but if that is the case we should have been given the option to cancel within the 24 hour window.
Great way to get to know the city, see some amazing art and indulge in craft beer! Guides were friendly and knowledgeable and had some great tips of things to do in Calgary! Happily recommend this!
Awesome experience! Our guide, Tina, was a wealth of knowledge about Canada and Calgary history. The art (murals and statues) that we saw were amazing and the bars we went to served amazing flights of local craft beers and ciders! Highly recommend this tour.
This was an awesome experience to experience Calgary. We were able to experience the city, and saw great street art that we normally wouldn’t have paid as much attention to. We also went to a couple of great breweries. Our guides were so cool and just really fun people to be around. We ended up just chatting even longer than the 3 hours! The hosts pick up the tabs at the breweries so nothing to worry about. 10/10 would recommend!
R this was a very interesting and enjoyable tour. Our guide theuna was very knowledgeable about the various artworks. I really enjoyed the two breweries
We had the best time at the Calgary Street Art and Craft Beer tour today. We walked around the Beltline area looking at wonderful pieces of street art. We also had the chance to visit 2 establishments to sample some amazing craft beers. We particularly enjoyed the Four Dogs Taproom which, as well as having a fantastic selection of drinks, is dog themed which we loved. Our tour guide was Daniel and he was absolutely brilliant. He really made the tour special for us , he was so knowledgeable about the art work and he was great fun. We understand that this tour may soon be unavailable - please, please keep it on your schedule, it really is a fantastic experience, it would be such a shame to see it disappear. Many thanks for a great day.
Daryl was our tour guide and he made this a very fun and informative tour. He has really studied the mural art and even talks with artists to find out more about their work so he can share the information with people touring. He asks great questions while you tour to make you think about and really appreciate the art. The two breweries we visited had great beers and fun atmospheres. We highly recommend this tour
So much fun! The street art was so eclectic. Daryl had the backstories on the artists and murals. Got to know a piece of Calgary that few would know. The brewery’s were a great addition and the perfect pit stops to get to know one another.
Absolutely beautiful city! We got to see so many things we would have missed on our own. And the pubs we visited had a lot of local character - exactly what we were hoping for. Guides were fantastic! We had three generations in our groul, and all of us had a good time.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed discovering the city’s hidden gems and local pubs full of character. It’s great that the tour was fun for all three generations in your group. We hope to welcome you again soon!
