Mohammed was a good guide, speaking English very eloquently, and he knew a lot about the history. He also could teach me a few hieroglyphics and the logic behind them. He has a good laid-back attitude, but professional aura around him, which makes him chill and not too demanding. The only minus point was that he was so good that the tour was over too quickly, and I didn't have anything to do for the rest of the day. So ask him a lot of questions and take it slow hahaha!
Lots of history. Infrastructure needs massive rebuilding. Animals are free to roam. Food was tasty..
One of our best experience we have ever had, our tour guide (Hassan karem) was very knowledgeable about everything we saw and i would highly recommend it to anyone who decide to come to eygpt.
My review on this tour is mixed. We scheduled for 9:00 AM. The email we received the day before said our guide would be at the hotel at 8:00. So all six of us were ready to go at 8:00. Guide didn't show up until 9:20 with only a small apology. We tried to contact EMO Tours but couldn't get through by any method so were quite relieved when he did show. We had to stop at one point and switch drivers so I am not sure what the issue that day was. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptian history but was very unprofessional in dress with holey jeans and a hoodie. On the upside, we requested not to do the Coptic Churches but to visit the Egyptian Civilization Museum instead since we had just learned that's where the mummies are now located. Our guide checked with the company and they said it was fine. We did buy our own tickets which was ok. We also did the old Grand Egyptian Museum which was fantastic! Our guide gave us too much information on some of the exhibits. We did the lunch option which was very good and there was tons of food. Our guide failed to tell us we were responsible for paying for our drinks. No big deal but we should have been informed. We were then supposed to do the Bazaar. Due to some translation issues with the guide, we ended up at some high cost stores that had the same things as the street vendors at a much higher cost. I do have to say, our guide did his hardest to make me happy and the tour lasted longer than stated which was our fault.
We were provided with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and nice driver. The guide was happy to arrange our tour at our requested pace.
Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. He helped a lady having difficulty with the stairs. He was sure to make us comfortable. We went everywhere we needed for souvenirs. His English was great. His history was amazing. Highest recommendation!
We had a good time. Mr. Sayed Mahmoud was funny and a good tour guide. He was knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. Mr. Adel (our driver) was always on time to pick us up and opened our doors with a smile. Both gentlemen were nice and we felt comfortable being with them. Overall, we were happy with the tour.
For a good experience, the perfume and papyrus shopping depends on sizes of vials and bottles and paper you select because once in the USA, the max is 100ml. Yet they stamp and give a tourist license certificate. I hope my chakra essences go through and the size of the papyrus rolls isn't an issue. The guide took paper money from my hand and handed it to the waiter, whom was showing me the calculator in Egyptian pounds, I was paying and he and I were making change and such. It was very rude to swipe 200 Egyptian pounds ($40) for a bottle of water and a mango juice when at a buffet experiencing local waiters. The guide answered all my questions, the driver got us everywhere necessary.
Booked this tour as a solo traveling American female- wow I had a fabulous time! My tour guide Zeinab was on time, she had very good English and we saw all the sites. We went to so many places and it was a wonderful day in and around downtown Cairo! I highly recommend this tour as Cairo is amazing! We had a personal driver and a car which was super helpful and lots of AC too which made it very comfortable. I could not have done this on my own. Thank you EMO yours for the most wonderful day and being with me every step of the way!
Great tour with Emo Tour Egypt! Our guide Tarek was very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited the Old Market and some local shops — everything was well organized and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
