My wife and i had the good fortune of spending a day with Matteo for a magical day filled with beautiful nature, fascinating conversations on Truffles as well as what makes the ones around Rome so very special. Matteo was so much fun to travel with as he derives as much pleasure from his guests experiences as the guests do themselves. This is not a job for Matteo, but a life's calling, a mission to meet and connect with people from all over the world, all while engaged in work that he clearly finds to be meaningful. After a few hours spent in nature with Matteo and his special dogs, we went back to his home for what was one of the best meals we had in our whole visit to Italy. The setting was amazing and the food experience was nothing less than a culinary adventure and a chef's challenge of ensuring that every dish was made with fresh truffles. The bar was set high and Matteo's team did not disappoint. When it was all done, our whole group was full not only from amazing cuisine, but an afternoon spent enjoying the pleasures of slow-served food that was real, fresh and healthy. They also sell a full array of truffle products that are an absolute must, not just for their inherent quality but, more so because the cost of the same products in Rome cost much, much more. We are already looking forward to coming back again in a different season as the menue changes with the seasons as do the truffles themselves. I can't recommend Matteo highly enough.

We really looked forward to this tour because we love hiking, dogs, food, and meeting new people. This tour checked every box for us and we were not disappointed. We especially enjoyed Wendy and Bobbi the truffle dogs and the food was amazing!!!!

We went as a group of friends and had an absolutely wonderful experience. It was both grounding and fascinating to stroll through the forest and watch the adorable dogs expertly search for truffles. The entire experience felt authentic, relaxed, and thoughtfully curated. The lunch afterward was exceptional, as was the wine. Every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making the meal feel truly special. Matteo and his team were incredibly warm and welcoming, creating a comfortable and friendly atmosphere from the very beginning. We were also fortunate to share the experience with a fantastic group of people, which made the day even more enjoyable. A memorable experience that we would highly recommend.

This was the most amazing day, with the most amazing people. This was by far the best thing we did in Rome. My review is not going to do this trip justice. You get a great adventure and to experience something totally unique and fun. Matteo and Julio are so welcoming and kind. The dogs are so affectionate and funny. My heart and belly were so full. The genuine warmth and kindness makes you never want to leave. I would give this 10 stars and I encourage you not to miss this.

This was a fantastic experience! Matteo was nice and he shared a lot of interesting information throughout our truffle hunt. The food afterwards was just incredible. Each course was delicious and featured truffle in so many different ways. This is a very unique experience off the beaten path and a highlight of our whole trip!! I cannot recommend this experience enough!

Wear good shoes as they will need to have good treads since you’ll be in the mountains on hills. Some folks did slip because it recently rained. Other than that, this was our highlight of our Rome trip. It was so much fun and the dogs were adorable. To top it off, the lunch was amazing!!!

My Wife and I's experience with Matteo was truly worth more than the price of the tickets! We are from the United States and went to rome for our honeymoon. Getting to meet Matteo and his background is amazing! He is so kind-hearted and friendly. You can tell he loves what he does. He is such a fungi, and has a deep knowledge about mushrooms. His dogs are adorable, and each have their own personality. We had the pleasure to join the loveable truffle-sniffing dogs, Wendy and Bonny as we hunted the grounds of the mountains outside of Rome. Matteo is also such a hospitable host as he took everyone to his house for after. He and his significant other cooked and prepared 7 course truffle-themed dishes in their kitchem while we relaxed at their wonderful abode. It was such an amazing experience to dine, relax, and get to know the other guests that also booked this gem of an adventure. For our group, we had people of other nationalities such as New Zealand and Ukraine; and to connect and learn more about each other and having fun just amplified the atmosphere and experience. My wife and I agreed that we will definitely be joining Matteo and his adventures again when we return to the Rome area again in the future. I would recommend a thousand times to try it. You would not regret it.

Matteo was so friendly and fun! This was one of our favorite experiences while in Rome. We were welcomed into Matteo's home like life long friends! Then we were driven up to the foot of a mountain and we hiked up to breathtaking views, stopping along the way for the dogs, Juliette and Wendy, to hunt truffles. It was SO MUCH FUN!! After the hunt, we were welcomed back to Matteo's home where he proceeded to make us a 7 seven course savory lunch, using fresh truffles on each dish. Matteo is a wonderful cook and an even better host! After lunch we shared a drink and stories of growing up in Italy, traveling, and our families. I highly recommend Matteo's truffle experience!

Fantastic way to spend the day, guides are incredible and the dogs are adorable of course! After the hunt we went to Matteo’s family home and enjoyed a 7 course lunch with wine. The food was some of the best we had in Italy and enjoyed it with a lovely view. The hunt itself was a little more challenging than I expected as we had to go to a high elevation in the mountain due to the time of year. Hiking boots instead of running shoes would have made it easier but there were still some challenging slopes that were very slippery. If you have mobility issues ask first what area you are going to because I think it really makes a difference. They do supply walking sticks which really helped. It was really nice to get out of the city for the day and enjoy the sites and peace of the countryside. We (well the dogs) found a lot of truffles which was so fun to watch. This was one of our favorite excursions we took while in Italy. Don’t miss it!
