Just wow! Thank you Chima team for this super unique experience where we learned a lot about cocoa. The whole team is super prepared and has a great passion for their mission, they told us a lot about the history of cocoa but also made us experience amazing flavors through the tasting of cocoa, chocolates, cocoa based drinks and an amazing dessert! Super recommended.
Such a lovely experience. The place is absolutely immaculate and very colourful and charming. Everything is done by hand and the utmost care is taken to ensure hygiene measures are followed. Victor explained the cacao process in such a friendly way that even kept my 4 and 6 year olds engaged and excited to learn. Chocolates and snacks at the end were delicious. Highly recommend.
One of the best--if not THE best learning experiences with chocolate EVER. I know that might sound a bit over-the-top, but our experience with Ali on March 11th was nothing short of spectacular. She explained the differences between the various Cacao beans---Light Seed, Dark Seed, Purple Seed (Fermented & Washed) and White Seed (Pataxte). She discussed how Cacao was used (for special occasions) in Pre-Hispanic culture and how it evolved with sugar brought by the Spanish. A wonderful interactive experience with tastings that I will long remember. Highly recommend. Thank You Ali!
It was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was very appropriate, our guide’s knowledge was very thorough, and the experience of tasting different flavors was incredible. It’s something you shouldn’t miss.
We really enjoyed this experience. It was in a small group and we got to learn a lot about the various chocolate types that are found in the Oaxaca region and how they make the cocoa into hot chocolate and into chocolate bars. We were also able to get a little tasting of some small batch mezcals which was a real bonus.
My wife loves cacao and was the main reason I went on this trip although I went with an open mind. It far far exceeded my expectations. The venue is lovely and our experience was conducted by Diego who I think was one of the owners. His English was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the history and all aspects of cacao production and answered all questions gladly. We had a great experience and my wife bought a cup to use for ceremonies back in the UK.
Fantastic experience! Learned tons about cacoa and chocolate and tasted a bunch of delicious bites! Our host was friendly, charming, and knowledge and made the whole experience fun. It's also in a gorgeous space. Highly recommended!
It was pleasant and informational. The location is set up well. And the staff were very pleasant. A bit expensive for the experience, particularly as your apt to buy something while you’re there.
This was a great activity for us, especially since two of us have very limited mobility. The two hours we spent learning and experiencing the smells and tastes of different varieties of cacao were a delight.
Had a great 2 hours learning and tasting cocoa with a great guide who spoke excellent English.
