Ci fermeremo al Kibbutz Yad Mordechai al confine settentrionale con Gaza e conosceremo la storia, la geografia e l'importanza strategica dell'area.
Ci fermeremo davanti a Moshav Nativ Ha’asara, la comunità civile più vicina a Gaza e sentiremo parlare dell’attacco dei terroristi ai parapendii, che ha portato la guerra in questo villaggio pacifico.
Visitiamo il belvedere di Nahal Oz costruito in memoria dei 16 giovani osservatori assassinati il 7 ottobre e apprendiamo delle 7 giovani donne rapite e di cosa è successo loro.
Ci fermiamo fuori da Kibbutz Be’eri, una delle comunità più duramente colpite durante l’attacco mortale di Hamas, con 102 persone uccise e 32 rapite a Gaza - 10 delle quali ancora lì. Le perdite di questa comunità furono tra le peggiori quel giorno. Sentirete diverse storie degli orrori che le famiglie hanno sofferto. Sentiamo anche parlare di un eroe che ha dato la sua vita per salvare la sua comunità e conoscere cosa riserva il futuro per questo kibbutz. Entriamo anche nel rifugio antiatomico vicino alla fermata dell'autobus dove Yuval Rafael, il candidato israeliano all'Eurovision 2015, è stato sepolto sotto cadaveri per 8 ore.
Rifugio per bombe Strada 232: Porgi i tuoi omaggi in questo luogo simbolico, da dove sono stati rapiti alcuni giovani, tra cui Hersh Goldberg. La Strada 232 è stata recentemente completamente rimessa in superficie dopo devastanti danni da razzi, incendi e RPG. Apprendiamo anche la storia di Aner Shapira che ha dato la vita per salvare gli altri intrappolati nel rifugio antiatomico.
Entriamo nel kibbutz per il pranzo nella sala da pranzo comune. Visitiamo il luogo in cui Bipin Joshi, l'eroico lavoratore nepalese, è stato preso in ostaggio e i suoi amici del Nepal e della Thailandia sono stati uccisi. Apprendiamo cosa è successo su Kibbutz Alumim quel giorno.

Una tappa profondamente toccante nel sito del Nova Music Festival vicino a Kibbutz Re’im, dove 364 giovani sono stati uccisi e 43 rapiti. Il sito ora funge da memoriale spontaneo in cui amici e famiglie hanno creato ricordi personali e tributi ai loro cari.
Il 'cimitero delle auto' vicino a Moshav Tkuma: l'inquietante collezione di 1.560 veicoli bruciati e distrutti recuperati dagli attacchi - ora funge da memoriale temporaneo. Le storie di molti dei proprietari dei veicoli sono disponibili per la lettura utilizzando i codici QR eretti nelle vicinanze. An incredibly moving & deeply meaningful tour. Simon is extremely knowledgeable & he guided us with compassion, respect & sensitivity. This tour was profoundly impactful & the manner in which he shared the stories has left a lasting emotional impression that we will carry in our hearts forever.

What a wonderful albeit emotional day we had touring the Gaza envelope Simon is sooooo knowledgeable, a truly convivial, relaxed and warm gentleman to boot. At every turn on our many stops he had such fascinating stories that only enhanced our experience. Not to mention he picked us up in a super comfy roomy car and is an excellent driver, and was so lovely, courteous and completely watching for our pace as we made our stops along an emotionally impactful journey through the Gaza envelope many kibbutz and many profound memorials. Simon was a most informative tour guide. He had lots to share regarding the history of the event as well as biblical and modern history of Israel. This is an emotional tour and he set the proper tone at all venues. Would truly recommend Simon for this and probably any of his other tours. I would like to highly recommend Simon, the tour operator who guided my family through the Otef Gaza region. We began the day with some understandable apprehension, but Simon immediately set a thoughtful and reassuring tone by starting our visit at Yad Mordechai, where he gave an excellent overview of the area’s history, beginning with the earliest modern Jewish communities. Throughout the day, Simon took us to a number of important sites close to the Gaza border, including a viewpoint over the region, the grounds where a major music event had taken place, several protected structures used by local residents, & neighbourhoods that were significantly affected. We finished our tour at the location of the Sderot police station, an important landmark in recent events. Simon was exceptionally knowledgeable, & he presented everything with clarity, balance, & great sensitivity. Despite the challenging nature of the subject matter, he made the experience meaningful, accessible, & deeply informative. His professionalism, empathy, & understanding of the region were evident throughout the day. Simon is a licensed Israeli tour guide, & based on this experience, I would not hesitate to hire him again to explore other parts of Israel. I wholeheartedly recommend him.
