Descrizione

Disappointing

We have mixed feelings about this tour. It didn't appear to align with the advertised itinerary. The promise of 40 minutes (including entry costs paid) for Rundale Palace indicated we would see inside yet this was never a possibility due to late arrival. A brief visit to the gardens was all that was on offer. The Salaspils Memorial was also promised, yet again the arrival time meant that we were never going to have the opportunity to go inside the museum. It closed at 5 and we arrived after 7pm. The marketing was not accurate. The description said lunch was not provided yet we were all told to put in orders for a lunch we had to pay for, at an isolated location where there was nothing else to do. As we were in Kaunas town until 12:15pm and had been told lunch was our responsibility we had arranged our meals. The time at the restaurant was unnecessary and again is an indication of the inaccurate advertising. Our guide, Ruta was very friendly on arrival. She gave short interesting explanations at each location. She was silent during the journey. We had expected information such as history, anecdotes or explanations regarding landmarks. We are glad we experienced something of each location but do not believe we received what was promised. The advertising details of this tour need to be updated and the lunch options/expectations clarified.

Risposta dell'operatore

Hi Thank you for the review! I am sorry you had other expectations than the sightseeing tour bus could offer. Firstly, the tour bus runs both directions from Riga to Vilnius and from Vilnius to Riga. It means that if we start the day from Vilnius, then we cannot arrive in Rundale and Salaspils so that all the museums would be open all year round (opening hours change depending on the season). As for the museums, it is challenging to add full museum visits to the regular tour as it takes a lot of time. A museum fan could easily spend a full day just in Rundale. In order to have the sightseeing bus within normal time limits, we do not have that time. Also, not everyone is a museum fan. We try to meet in the middle by visiting the gardens and covering the history outside. For Rundale fans or museum enthusiasts, we recommend booking a private tour, as this way we can customize the tour as needed. It is true that during the drive our guide is not talking or giving a history overview. Mainly to drive safely and secondly to also give people a bit of time to relax and just be with their own thoughts as well. It is a long day, and it could be very exhausting to hear someone talking all day :) Finally, about lunch. Yes, it is not included, but we always make sure to have a stop for lunch at a local tavern or cafe. Again, it is a group tour, and we try to make sure that the place we stop has everything for everyone, and in case someone has brought their own lunch, then this is okay as well. So far, the lunch stop has been a hit. I am so sorry we could not deliver on our description and you had other expectations. I am truly sorry. Our first and most important goal is to show people the beautiful areas also outside Riga and Vilnius and give a glimps to a local life. Thank you again for the honest review, and we will try to improve our descriptions! All the best wishes

POOR COMMUNICATION leads to bad result

On October 11, I scrolled to find any info from you..wondered why there was no update after confirmation. Found a place to issue my tickets and did so. On trip date, Oct 12, my friend and I stood in front of the Ministry looking for the van. I then tried to retrieve the tickets and they had disappeared. Only after I returned home did I see your cancellation. We had to scramble to get to Riga as we had nonrefundable hotel and airline tickets there. Not pleasant on a cold rainy day.

Vilnius–Riga Sightseeing Tour Bus by Traveller Tours – A Memorable Day Across Borders

If you're planning to travel between Lithuania and Latvia, I can't recommend this tour enough. The Vilnius–Riga Sightseeing Tour Bus by Traveller Tours is not just a way to get from one country to another — it’s a full day of immersive experiences, charming towns, and fascinating history, all made even better by a fantastic guide. Our guide, Laura (pronounced Lowra), was truly amazing. She was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging, and really made the day special for everyone. Her passion for the region and easygoing style made the tour not only informative but genuinely fun. She was just great all around — we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. My personal fav stop was the Hill of Crosses, a site that’s hard to describe in words. It’s a surreal, moving place — thousands upon thousands of crosses left by pilgrims and visitors alike, each with its own story. It’s one of those places that really makes you stop and think. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip. Overall, this tour is a perfect way to travel from Vilnius to Riga. You skip the hassle of buses or trains and instead enjoy a full day of sightseeing, stories, and stunning locations. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to make the most of their travel between the Baltic capitals. It was well-organized, enriching, and a lot of fun — a definite highlight of my trip!

Great Way to travel from Vilnius to Riga

We organised a private tour from Vilnius to Riga, stopping at Trakai, Kaunas (museum for the blind) and Hill of Crosses. Camilla was a good guide. However, an email was sent on the day before the trip that we missed that would have allowed us to see more by starting the trip earlier. As it was, it was a good way to see Trakai, a beautiful picturesque town, Kaunas for the unique experience of the museum for the blind and the Xmas markets and the Hill of Crosses - a symbol of rebellion and resistance against the Russian empire. Separate reviews for the stops.

Great way to travel between the cities & sightsee!

This trip was a great way to see the sights whilst travelling between cities! Originally I was just going to catch a bus, then came across this tour! Good room for luggage and small groups of 4-8 people with a fun friendly guide! Our guide stopped every hour either to sightsee, toilet break or have lunch! Good negotiation/discussion of time needed in each place and felt it was well organised!

Vilnius to Riga

The guide/driver Ruta was nice , but the tour could be better planned to include more time in Kaunas where we could have lunch by our own , instead of going to a determined restaurant in the middle of the road . Time at Hill Of Croces was unnecessary since it could be just a quick stop to take pictures , and instead , we could make a really visit to Rundāle and not being there just to give a look at the gardens 10 minutes before closing . With this , it could have more light time at the last stop , a really interesting monument at the forest near Riga .

Transfer with benefits

A great way to travel from Vilnius to Riga. Your guide Camille was knowledgeable and professional and told us relevant info about the sights in Kaunas, Hill of Crosses, Runsdale Castle and Salaspils Memorial on our transfer between the two capitals.
