The app is extremely hard to use. First of all. I did not learn when I booked this experience how to download the tour on my iPhone. It wasn't until I found a way to chat with the operator that they sent instructions. The app was quite slow, hard to navigate, and used Google maps which are way too detailed for this kind of activity. Apple Maps would've been so much better. I'm not entirely sure how so many people rated this activity is highly as they did because it was the worst experience on many levels. And I'm a very experienced world traveler.
Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry the experience in Bratislava was frustrating. We're sorry the download process wasn't clear from the start — our team did provide the instructions once you reached out, but it shouldn't have required that effort, and we're working on making the setup clearer at booking. We appreciate your notes on the app speed and the map integration and have shared them with our development team. We're sorry we fell short for an experienced traveler like yourself, and we'd genuinely like to make it right — please reach out at worldcitytrail.com/chat with your booking number. 🗺️
Super fun activity and flexible times!
Thank you Christine! 😊 Super fun and flexible — that's exactly what we want to offer! We're glad Bratislava delivered. We hope to welcome you in another city soon! 🗺️
Clear instructions, an enjoyable way to explore the city centre
Thank you Jenny! 😊 Clear instructions and an enjoyable city exploration — that's exactly what we want every player to experience! We're glad Bratislava delivered. We hope to welcome you in another city soon! 🗺️
The app is incredibly buggy. Every stop the app would crash and I would need to restart. Besides that, the clues were incredibly convoluted and didn’t give the best information about Bratislava. I would avoid
Thank you for your feedback and we sincerely apologise for the experience you had in Bratislava. App crashes are frustrating and we completely understand your disappointment. We have looked into this and connectivity issues can sometimes affect performance — we recommend using mobile data rather than public WiFi for the smoothest experience, something we'll make clearer in our instructions going forward. We also take your feedback about the clues seriously and are continuously working to improve them. We're sorry this visit didn't meet your expectations and we hope you'll give us another chance in a different city. 🗺️
It was fun to discover the special places of the city at your own pace while still getting some informative input. Solving a few more puzzles has given it a fun touch. Would I do it again
Absolutely recommended! Done with family with 2 adolescent boys. Everything is very good to call. Takes you past almost all the important places. You can skip the puzzles and then you can still walk the route. Nice detail, you get a lot of info about Bratislava and its history. Just download the app and go! We have ordered for 1 person. With 1 phone you don't need more. Nice price for what you hear and see!
Highly recommended. There are five of us, with three kids started through Bratislava with the app. Everyone could do their part.
The mapping feature did not work well. You are better off to just use a paper map. Other than that, we had a great time! The clues were not too hard or too easy. It was a great way to learn more about the city and find out what you could see and do in the old part of the city.
As a solo traveler, this scavenger hunt was exactly what I needed to explore Bratislava in a fun and meaningful way. It guided me through the charming old town, up to the castle, and into hidden corners I would’ve missed on my own. The clues kept me engaged, and I loved learning quirky facts about the city along the way. I felt totally safe, could go at my own pace, and even stopped for coffee with a great view. It was like having a personal tour , but way more fun!
Boring and I didn’t really learn that much. I have lot of scavenger hunts throughout different cities in the world and they’re usually really fun, this one was boring with lrandom math problems as clues that didn’t actually contribute to understanding her knowledge of the actual area. For example, it took us to the primal palace, but didn’t actually explain why it’s called Primal Palace. The clue has to do with a part of the façade, but they didn’t explain what that was. I had to use ChatGPT to actually do its job and give me a tour. And once we got to one stop, you read some stuff and that was it. There wasn’t more to look at in detail that maybe other people didn’t see or understand. The app itself looks like it’s programmed by a five-year-old. There’s no interaction. There’s no sounds or narrative. I didn’t even finish the whole thing because I could just use ChatGPT and gotten a better tour.
Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback. We're sorry the experience in Bratislava didn't meet your expectations, especially given your extensive experience with scavenger hunts around the world. You raise several valid points — the connection between clues and the actual history of each location, the depth of explanations and the overall interactivity of the experience are areas we take very seriously and continuously work to improve. Your specific example about the Primal Palace is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us make our content more meaningful and educational. We have since added audio narration to our tours which provides much more context and storytelling at each location — addressing exactly what you felt was missing. We genuinely appreciate detailed feedback like yours as it drives real improvements. We hope you'll give us another chance in a different city to show you how much the experience has evolved! 🗺️
