L'albero viene utilizzato dai guaritori tradizionali delle comunità vicine per rituali e scopi medicinali usando la corteccia dell'albero. Alcuni popoli credono che l'albero possa essere usato per scacciare lo spirito malvagio. La passeggiata nella foresta prevede anche la visita e, se interessati, prendere parte alla nostra iniziativa di conservazione per trascorrere 30-45 minuti nei nostri vivai innaffiando e gestendo giovani piantine o piantando alcuni alberi per aiutare a conservare la foresta. Dal margine della foresta nella parte meridionale, l'escursione può essere estesa alle risaie dove gli agricoltori locali conducono un sistema di irrigazione a più di 3000 ettari di appezzamenti di riso.

Peter was an amazing guide and picked us up at our hotel and even brought us back again. He told us all about the different animals, trees and plants whilst the forest walk. He is so funny and his interest for wildlife is addictive and we loved to hear about his stories. He has a lot of experience and we would recommend going on a tour with him anytime. The forest tour was great. It was really nice to get out of the city buzz for a few hours and take some time to explore around the forest, rice field's and see the monkeys! Peter was a really good guide, he knew a lot about the forest, different trees and animals and the lifestyle of the farmers. Very much recommend :-)

The Rau Forest Hiking Tour was really nice! We saw lots of monkeys and special kind of trees and fruits. We also really enjoyed the Rice fields, it was wonderful! You could walk between the fields. The guide Peter has lots of knowledge and is really kind. He is very flexibel and willing to help you. He picked us up at our accomodation. We would definitely recommend this tour to others!
