El Museo del Oro de Bogotá alberga una de las colecciones más importantes del mundo en orfebrería prehispánica, con más de 30.000 piezas de culturas indígenas. Fundado en 1939 y administrado por el Banco de la República, es un ícono cultural de Colombia. Destacan obras como la Balsa Muisca y el Poporo Quimbaya.
El museo ocupa una casa colonial restaurada, donde se exponen pinturas, esculturas y dibujos que reflejan el estilo volumétrico y lleno de personalidad de Botero, así como obras de Monet, Picasso y Dalí de su colección privada.
Es un punto de encuentro cultural: cafés, arte callejero, cuenteros y turistas conviven en un espacio pintoresco con fuerte carga patrimonial.

It was a very interesting and informative Museum. The Museum is free for Senior Citizens. Many of the exaibits were in both Spanish and English. Some of the translations to English were a bit odd. Whice were there a special program was presented to a group of young school children.

Nestor was a safe, professional, and reliable driver, which made the whole trip feel smooth and stress-free. Together, they made the experience not only informative but also fun and comfortable. Colombia is lovely but Andrés made us fall in love with this land and obviously left us wanting to come back, by the way.. Andres makes some spectacular photos we get very good memories.
