Wonderful trip and our guide Greg was excellent and extremely helpful. He provided a lot of information for us to make the right decisions, from resting areas, coffee places and physical difficulty level to get at specific spots like Gordon falls or Wentworth falls. Spectacular views and enjoyable day. Physically tiring but as Greg mentioned one day that it will last in our memory forever. Highly recommended and you can take options accordingly to your physical capacity overall stunning specially Wentworth falls.
Participated in a solo trip for a woman in her 50s. There were some concerns, but our guide, Chris, was very experienced and felt safe. The explanation was also very detailed. Recommended for those who want to walk on their feet and enjoy the great outdoors, rather than at theme parks. You can also interact with participants from various countries. It was an unforgettable day.
The tour reaches a beautiful waterfall and views. If you're really interested in the Blue Mountains, I would recommend going there for more than a day. The 3 stars is for our 1 star guide. Unenthusiastic, not much info, no one got his name. He told us to meet at 2:40. After we waited 15 minutes, we called the tour company worried we had missed the group. He had stayed with the group at another spot (we were told we could explore on our own). 25 mins later when we met up, he said it was "okay" and "not a problem." No apology. Acted like it was our fault. I've been on a lot of day trip tours, and this guide (Eric? or Derick?) is the worst.
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful Blue Mountains, but we're sorry to hear your experience with the guide fell short of expectations. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will be following up with the team to help improve future tours.
We loved this day trip outside of Sydney. Our guide (Greg) was so friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure we had the best experiences possible and added in a bunch of great stories along the way. We stopped for a nice dinner on the way back too! The Wentworth waterfall was beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We're thrilled to hear that you loved the day trip outside of Sydney and that Greg’s friendly and knowledgeable guidance made it special. It’s great to know he added engaging stories and ensured you had the best experiences. The dinner stop and the beauty of Wentworth Falls sound like perfect highlights. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to helping you create more memorable adventures in the future!
Wonderful Blue Mountain tour with Derrick! Loved the stop in Glen Brook too. Appreciated the guide led hikes & talks balanced with free time to explore on our own! Fantastic day in the fabulous Blue Mountains!
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you had such a fantastic day exploring the Blue Mountains with Derrick. It's great to know you enjoyed the guided walks, free time to explore, and the stop at Glenbrook. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!
This is an excellent day trip from Sydney to the Blue Mountains area which included a moderate hike to wentworth waterfalls plus time to explore nearby areas as well as catching the sunset at Echo Point which has the view of the Three Sisters. We also got to see some wild kangaroos (one with a joey) along the way. There are plenty of breaks in between to grab lunch/snacks as there are long periods of driving to get to the mountains and getting back to Sydney. I also appreciated hearing about some of the history of the places as well as descriptions of the flora and it uses. It was a nice sunny day but very windy - so windy that the waterfall was going up :) Overall, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Thanks for the wonderful review! 😊 We're so glad you enjoyed the Blue Mountains, the hike to Wentworth Falls, and that magical sunset at Echo Point. Sounds like you even got a fun surprise with the wind at the waterfall and some kangaroo sightings along the way! Really happy to hear you had a great day overall. Hope to see you again on another adventure!
The tour guide was extremely personable and informative. The day was planned out well and the scenery at the locations were spectacular. My 12 year old son said it was one of the best days of his life!
So glad you had a wonderful day in the Blue Mountains! Hearing your son call it one of the best days of his life means the world.
What an amazing day! But make sure you were appropriate footwear and clothes especially footwear as the mountains and very steep! Greg our guide was brilliant and as someone with a fear for heights he made sure to help me across some of the tougher parts of the mountains!
So pleased you had an amazing day! Greg’s care and humour make the adventure even more memorable.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the local flora and passionate about the healing properties of being in the mountains. He set a brisk pace on the bush walk, with frequent stops for rest, photo opportunities and informational talks. Would have liked some more information about the indigenous history of the area. Good amounts of time were given at the stopping points on the trip. The wild kangaroo sightings were a bit disappointing.
Thank you for joining our Blue Mountains Sunset Tour! We’re glad you enjoyed the walk and guide’s insights. We’ll share your feedback on indigenous history, and while kangaroo sightings vary, we hope the experience was still memorable.
It was a great outing. I got to see the Blue Mountains in the sunshine, and then, the next day, in the mist. I would have quite liked to also see them when it’s downright hot, and apparently the oil from the eucalyptus evaporates and shrouds the valley in the titular hues of blue, but this was just as great, with the ribbons of vapour lending the whole place a fairy tale- or Lost World-type quality. The true standout of the tour however was our guide, whose name to my great shame I’ve not managed to retain either mentally or digitally, since my phone’s memory subsequently got wiped, but he was the one who had a school friend who was snapped in half by a shark (retrospective content warning). That’s not a piece of information I necessarily would have wanted to reproduce here, but Wildlife Tours/Autopia/Get Lost simply don’t profile their guides on their various websites, so I’ve not been able to find him online (Greg? Derek? Chris? One of those three). Anyway he was one of the best guides I had during my month Down Under, radiating warmth, wisdom and generosity of spirit with every word and gesture. On the bus on the way there he made a point of making a detour to some established kangaroo haunts, and that’s where I spotted my first marsupial in the wild, which was thrilling. He also pointed out a few scattered specimens of the impressively toxicity-world-record-wielding Sydney Funnelweb Spider, which was interesting. The hike is a good, hearty one with a bit of up and down, but nothing too exacting and in any case the major trails in Australia are so pristinely well-kept you could do it in your sneakers, if not slippers. A nice, scenically dramatic change from the beach for sure!
Thank you for sharing such a detailed and vivid account of your outing! It sounds like an incredible experience, from seeing the Blue Mountains in different moods to the memorable guide whose warmth and knowledge made the trip even more special. The story about the guide's personal history, even with the sensitive content, adds a fascinating human touch. I'm glad you got to encounter wildlife like kangaroos and learn about the unique creatures like the Sydney Funnelweb Spider. It sounds like a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and discovery. If you'd like, I can help you craft this into a polished review or story!
