Lovely experience on a clear day, but think I would have had the wow factor early evening. If you want to leave a lock with a message You can buy them there in different colours quite cheap. Even the toilets from the observation platform in the tower are an experience ladies so check them out. We took cable car up and walked down which was nice but could have also taken the bus.

Very easy process. Received our ticket vouchers through email and when entering the observatory you go to a kiosk and exchange the vouchers for tickets, after which you get put in a queue to get to the observatory. There was no line when we visited (weekday evening around sunset in July). Also to note, the ticket is admission to the observatory but other levels of Namsan Tower are free to visit and eat and shop, and also provide beautiful views. The observatory did have a good souvenir shop with the option to mail a post card.

The weather that day was mixed with a lot of fog and then sunny spells. We had a relaxing coffee in the cafe near the top and watched the views coming and going. If anyone is going to Seoul it is definitely worth going to the top of the tower.
The view is beautiful and very worthwhile. Even the way to the elevator is very modern with lights lined and extensive projections. Even the elevator has a little surprise in store. The souvenir shop in the observatory and the small café with seating also made the stay a great experience. Definitely recommended.
This Saturday there were a LOT of people up around the tower as the skies were clear and the temp was 75 F. Beyond the view of the city from this mountain top, the interesting thing to see was the MILLIONS of love padlocks attached EVERYWHERE (why you can even purchase locks out of vending machines. Silly us only purchased a one-way trip to the top of the mountain, as we opted to walk back down a BILLION (HA HA) steps back down (7,200 steps). It was easier on the lungs, but our knees were barking! Oh, my - at this rate we are going to be in great shape for Vietnam or totally worn OUT!! Great view of the city!
Fantastic view of an amazing city. Catch the 1A or 1B Bus to the summit. Pray it's not cloudy, couples can do the padlock thing at the summit.
