Watching Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway was an experience I’ll never forget. From the moment the lights dimmed, I was completely immersed in a world where the impossible seemed real. Every illusion, spell, and scene change was executed so flawlessly that I often found myself wondering how it was even possible. Whether you’ve grown up with Harry Potter or are simply looking for an extraordinary night at the theatre, this show is worth experiencing. It’s one of those productions that can only be fully appreciated from a seat in the audience, where the magic unfolds right before your eyes.
Me and one of my best friends booked a weekend in New York just to see Tom Felton play the curse of child, and it blew me away we booked a little bit more of an extra pricey ticket. We had a private lounge with built-in snacks and free drinks, which were delicious and amazing. We were greeted with such friendly and kind people. The show itself was spectacular. I cried my whole way through. I was just in awe of the magic and the fun that I and everyone around me was having I absolutely recommend watching the show and getting to see Tom Felton play Draco again was just the icing on the cake.
Fabulous show. We’d seen it in London a few years ago but the shorter one part show is much faster paced and slicker. Special effects remain brilliant and great to be able to see Tom Felton. Our seats in Row K were excellent, huge leg room and great view of stage.
We went last Sunday evening. The cast were superb especially Aiden Close as Scorpius Malfoy and Allie Re as Moaning Myrtle (she absolutely nailed the character). Run time was good- we found the story very easy to follow. Albus Potter- Harry's son and Scorpius Malfoy- Draco's son become best friends at Hogwarts and try to go back in time to prevent Cedric Diggory's death, but end up causing problems that need to be sorted out. Security took a bit oof time and very long lines for beverages and shopping. The frozen butterbeer was delicious btw- not too sweet. Intermission was very short though and after the show the shop for souveniers was only open 15 minutes and was really crowded. My only big complaint was the $131.40 service charge PER TICKET added to the cost. That's a bit excessive.
This was theeeeee BEST hands down !! I am a huge Harry Potter fan & I am sooooo glad I experienced this. Performance was great all around !! If you're a Harry Potter fan I must insist that you experience this as well !!
It was the best show I've ever seen. From the cast to the magic, I actually went back the next night and watched it again. It made my trip to New York absolutely the best. I originally came to see Tom Felton revise his role as Draco Malfoy, however Emmet Smith and Aidan Close seriously stole the show. Those two young actors are going to be stars and I can't wait to follow their journey. The rest of the cast was absolutely the best as well, John Skelley and Trish Lindstrom blew me away with their parental roles and Ron, (Daniel Frederick) me not being a fan of Ron I couldn't believe what a fantastic job he did as well. The whole show from start, right when you walk in the theater, the esthetics, the sets, the music, the writing, the effects, the butterbeer, the CAST! Was literally magic from start to finish. Thank you for the wonderful work that you've done, every single one of you, from lights to sound to costumes, you gave me the best New York Broadway experience that I'll remember the rest of my life. Also hearing Tom Felton say, "Hermione Granger, I'm being bossed around by Hermione Granger. And I'm mildly enjoying it. " was worth the price of admission. Thank you again for all the amazing work you've done, I hope to come back again to see it one more time. With love all the way from Vancouver Island Canada.
The theatre was clean and inviting All staff very friendly and helpful The show was fantastic and we sat at the very back last row! This didn’t take anything away from it. The effects were good and added great excitement to the show
First time in Lyric Theatre, the ambience since you start approaching the Theatre is pure Harry Potter vibes. The Sound plus Special effects are out of this world. Flying, Fighting and Spells well done. If you want a closer look experience and get more involved with the performance, get closer seats.
This is a truly broadway worthy piece of art on stage. Some magical special effects play out along with some time travel story …that was sort of ok to follow but you kinda just had to roll with it. One special effect had us mesmerized even after we left. My complaints : the - ahem - dandy interplay with Harry and his hug buddy + the casting of hermione . Cmon . Another bad point : concession prices. Whoa ! Another good point. Theatre was prepped with high tech fun interplay with mobile phones.
The story was just so so. It was a little difficult to follow even though I’ve read all the books and seen all of the movies and I’m a huge potter fan. The father son characters were so close in age. It was a little unbelievable. However, the magic that they did on stage was out of this world amazing. It’s worth seeing the show just to see that.
