Not an easy process or experience. The tickets worked for us eventually but we were expecting a self guided experience with time to roam, and were given tickets to a guided tour. We did not have enough time to follow the guide, so went on our own anyway. I’m sure we paid a higher price for a guide but if you don’t want it make sure you’re not paying for it. After checking in and leaving our guide we had to rush through the crowds to get a brief glimpse of the Sistine Chapel. The ticket process is very confusing and requires several different checkpoints to get where you’re going. This provider sent the tickets for the first entry point an hour prior to our timed entry to a cell phone number we did not have international access to. I’m not sure why we couldn’t get them well ahead of time. We then thought we could go thru the turnstiles to enter the museum right away, but were directed back to the entrance to get another different ticket for our GUIDED tour to join. Like I said, very confusing and inconvenient among all of the chaos around the Vatican. I would recommend planning your ENTIRE day around this experience with plenty of time to shuffle slowly in a wave of people taking selfies with every statue and painting they see. I will book a private guide next time in the middle of the non-tourist season so I can take a full step and not kick someone’s heel. It is a beautiful place with amazing sights that are well worth seeing but I recommend doing quite a bit of research to get a good experience.

They called me and said they had to change my reservation time from what I initially opted for when purchasing. They forced me to either chose yes or no in the moment, otherwise if i said no to the time change, they said they would have to fully cancel my reservation. I realized later that day that I couldn't do the time they made me switch to, but because I said "yes" which I literally had no option (otherwise they would cancel my tour which i booked far in advance to reserve a spot), they refused to give me a refund. Horrible, horrible customer service.

It was like walking through an Ikea store. Would recommend doing in Spring or Fall to really enjoy. Allow your selves 2-3 hours. The service from Viator was great, just the masses in Rome in July, didn’t work well for us.

LOVED this tour! 🙌 The Vatican is huge, so give yourself at least 3 hours. The skip-the-line ticket saved us at least an hour of standing in the sun. Bring water, a camera, and prepare to be amazed 😄📸

My partner and I went early in the morning with skip-the-line access and it was perfect. We had a quiet moment together under the Sistine Chapel ceiling. It’s a beautiful and sacred space. Everything about this experience felt unforgettable and serene.

As a history nerd, this was a dream come true. From ancient Roman statues to Renaissance paintings, every room told a story. The skip-the-line ticket gave us more time to truly explore and appreciate everything.

This ticket is a time-saver, especially during peak hours. The museums are vast, so wear comfortable shoes. There’s no talking in the Sistine Chapel, but the silence actually adds to the experience. Be sure to download an audio guide app if you want extra context.

Terrible service. They first rescheduled the tour to another date but one day before the new date, they cancelled. We stood 5 hours in the line to get tickets on site. I don’t recommend.

Apparently even though we booked everything one hour before the originated time they cancelled our access to that area…. They said because of the new pope etc but that guy elected a couple of weeks ago thus they could inform us in advance I suppose

Horrible experience - do not use! We booked our tour two months in advance (which was confirmed) and then notified via email less than one hour before the tour was supposed to start that the tour had been canceled. When we contacted Viator (who used ShowMe Wonders / City Wonders as its local operator), they simply said their operator had to cancel the tour because there were no more tickets available. We spent one hour on the line, mostly on hold with Viator to try and understand and resolve this issue to no avail (beyond a refund). We are now standing in what will be a 4+ hour line to gain entry into the Vatican Museum which confirms that there are indeed tickets. And there are plenty of people skipping the line through prearranged tours. We are writing this one star, which should be a zero star review, due to the lack of customer service and poor communication.
