The St Stephen Basilica - also called Szent Istvan in Hungarian, is one of the main landmarks of Hungary. It is stunningly beautiful, majestic and houses the remains of Saint Stephen himself - the founder of the Hungarian state and the person who converted them to Catholicism. The basilica is decorated with gold, magnificent frescoes and paintings of Biblical scenes and of various saints and the Evangelists. There is also a panoramic terrace offering stunning views of Budapest, which has a separate ticket required for it.
It is worth visiting, the church is beautiful and if you want to have a complete view of the city go up to the dome, there is an elevator. No need to reserve and the purchase of ticktes is very easy.
We purchased tickets online - not able to go straight in with this. Need to access the ticket office which is outside to the right of the cathedral. We did not have a tour guide which we would have preferred for this tour around the cathedral.
Price was good, need better check in instructions, impressive organ recital, went straight in, no waiting.
Beautiful Basilica Tickets easily purchased from shop at side of Basilica Cost 2000HUF for Senior and 2600HUF for Adult This was for entry to Grand Hall area The Basilica is easily accessed if staying near main city centre Worth a visit
Had the same problem as another reviewer. Staff at the Basillica were great and the manager tried to help but was unable to find our booking reference. Tickets were not emailed to me and the manager explained that they have no contact for this operator. We ended up paying again which was disappointing. Basillica on the other hand - beautiful!

In case of any difficulty locating the tickets, guests can contact us directly via Viator messaging or through our active WhatsApp support line, both of which are clearly indicated in the booking information. We provide multiple support channels specifically to prevent situations like this. It is unfortunately unfair to accuse the operator when the ticket delivery process and support options are clearly explained before and after purchase. Not reviewing the provided instructions carefully can lead to misunderstandings, but this does not indicate a failure on our side.
Booked at office £12 ish senior ticket for all areas. Well worth it. Lift to top outside. Beautiful inside.
Booked online, printed the tickets and went to the fast track queue. The person at the desk to me there was a problem with the tickets and we had to wait to see the manager. The manger was really good and explained that she shouldn't accept the tickets as the operator issuing the tickets has never passed the funds on to them. She did however provide the tickets to us free of charge, but I'm not sure they will do that every time. This review is not a reflection on St Stephen's Basilica (which was incredible).

The document received immediately after booking is a voucher/confirmation, which cannot be used for entry. In this specific case, we can confirm that the official tickets were sent to the registered email address within 9 minutes of purchase. If a guest attempts to enter using the voucher instead of the official ticket, the venue is unfortunately unable to grant access. This may explain the situation you experienced at the entrance. There is no issue regarding payments to the venue, and the entry process works smoothly when the official ticket email is presented at the gate.
