Focuses on building of Titanic in Belfast and what was happening in Belfast at the same time. Very interesting and informative. Great for kids too as many interactive exhibits. Also covered search for Titanic by American Robert Ballard. Human stories of great interest as well. Excellent overall experience!
A spectacular building houses this immersive experience. Plan to spend a couple of hours here. Book tickets directly online and go early in the day when the crowds are smallest.
We both came to Belfast purposely to visit this museum. It is a part of history that I cannot shake off and it bewilders me the tragic story and passage this ship endured. We had booked in advance to action the self guided tour and had also hired the audio guides in advance. When we arrived we went straight in to a queue and that's basically how our whole tour unraveled. I would say right up front that we both felt this was more a chaotic experience as we were pushed in to and bumped all the way around. The queues and individuals who just wanted to walk anywhere they wanted in know order was amazing. To be quite honest you felt like you had been in a round of boxing by the time you finally broke the shackles and left the building. Having said all the negatives above the visit was really very informative and such an eye opener. I had no idea the actual keys for the lookouts binoculars had not sailed with the ship and that in fact they are now on display as they were left in Southampton. The amount of mistakes, conjecture, errors etc. that occurred was quite unbelievable and it took this accident for things to change. For example every ship must now man 24 hours its radio operation and there must be enough lifeboats available for every passenger/crew member on board. Things we would not even believe were not in place at that time but now are mandatory. White Star line Nomadic visit was excellent and informative. Great visit but maybe try and go on a day when the world is not visiting at the same time 🤣😂👌
Titanic experience was amazing will be going again
My family and I enjoyed the beauty in storytelling of this museum. It brought this tragedy to life. The sights, sounds and knowledgeable staff made the experience great. Our daughters were fully engaged. I particularly liked learning about the man who found Titanic and how. Also, the policy and procedure changes that were made in light of the Titanic’s demise.
A comprehensive look into the story of the Titanic from the shipyard she was built in til her discovery on the ocean floor - incredibly moving stories
Incredible experience, well worth a visit. Superbly put together.
Underwhelmed! Crowded and disappointed with whole experience. We visited the Titanic exhibition in London last December and it was exceptional. So we had high hopes for Belfast which were sadly not met.
Brilliant time. The exhibition was excellent. Very well produced with history of Belfast clearly set out. All of the constituent parts from the growing industries around Belfast such as the rope works and sirocco works were demonstrated. Then the journey through the building of Titanic, its launch and then its fateful maiden voyage were told in detail. A wonderful afternoon out. The prices in the galley and the shop were reasonable and affordable. Super centre. So glad we visited.
I would like to recall the horrible experience we had today at the Titanic experience in Belfast. The minute we entered the experience we could barely move. We were shocked at the amount of people that were in attendance. We realized very quickly that the situation was not going to improve, we felt like rats going through a maze. We could not read or see anything because of the amount of people. We got to a section where we entered a lift, once we exited an employee said something that we could not hear very well because of the amount people but what we did hear was that we had to stand there for at least 25 minutes ! At this stage we said that this was not acceptable, we asked an employee to show us the way out. We went down stairs and went to the customer service desk, I explained the situation and asked for a refund. The lady said, one minute and she went to get someone. A gentleman came and we explained the situation once again. He said that this was normal it is the hight of the summer season and a refund was not possible because I bought the tickets online! This explanation did not make any sense to us. He offered for us to come back later in the day which was not convenient as we are returning to Cork . He then offered for us to skip the 25 minute queue. We were not happy with this solution as it didn’t rectify the fact that there were too many people in the space. The truth of the matter is that too many people were given access at the same time. We even pointed out from a health and safety position we did not feel safe. He disagreed with us and said they were well within the numbers for health and safety. We got no refund and no understanding from the company at all. Avoid at all cost. There are a lot more enjoyable things to do in Belfast at no financial cost at all!
