Extremely well organised. Was kept well informed leading up, and on the day. Bus driver so nice and knowledgeable. Pt Arthur, all brilliant, I am a little restricted with my hip, well we were treated like royalty, apparently not busy, thus they could do this. For 6 1/2 hrs we were dropped off, picked up, educated by Mick, the driver. He knew absolutely everything, was an amazing, learning experience, thanks to Mick. Thanks to the tour organisers. Recommend. You betcha!!
The day was very, very long. Started at 7:45am, finished at 6:45pm. This tour catered mainly for people who wanted to hike in Tasman National Park, as Port Arthur is a drop off and pick up point. We spent 5 hours walking around the site and going on a brief harbour cruise, we then had to sit and wait 1 and a half hours till 4:30 for the bus. For people like myself, who only want to visit Port Arthur this tour probably isn’t for you.

Informative and interesting commentary on the bus. Our bus driver, Murray was friendly and very helpful. It was a long but very enjoyable day at the site with excellent talks by the guides. The cafe served good food and catered well for those with dietary requirements.Such a beautiful location.

Excellent day out. Bus times were spot on and the driver, Ben, was very personable and informative. Because we were a little ahead of schedule, he stopped at the Pirate Bay lookout on the way to Port Arthur and chose a more scenic drive back to Hobart in the afternoon- very much appreciated by all on board.

We learned so much of what actually happened in Port Arthur. We were not aware that convicts came to Tasmania, only other parts of Australia. The information about the young boys was very disturbing even for that time. Driver was good, and bus was comfortable.

We booked a full day trip with Gray Line tours. Firstly a massive shout out to our Bus driver Colin Dean. Well organised and not one hiccup. Fantastic knowledge of everything historical from Hobart to Port Arthur and every little village in between, made for an amazing day out. Also loved his ‘Dad’ jokes. Our trip took in so many highlights including Tasmans Arch, Remarkable Cave and a brilliant chocolate foundry. Plenty of photo ops also. Port Arthur itself was incredible and well beyond what I expected. Thank you Colin for a great day.

Lots to see, site on slope so some climbs involved. Interesting history about men and boys who were sentenced there.

It was very long, finished everything and still 3 hours left for the return. It would be great if the bus departs earlier than 4:45 PM knowing that you already in the site by 9:30 AM and activities take 3 hours at maximum.

It is very exposed will need to rug up if forecast for cold weather. Great time. The staff were very friendly.
