Worst zoo there is, much better go to another! Made for money at the expense of animals and humans
Zoo Blijdorp almost always good.
Lots of money paid for bad zoo Many animals not present such as; rhino, hippopotamus, chimpanzees, gorilla, wolf, fox, panther and others felines.., lots of fish a lot of fish and very hot in there
Best zoo in the Netherlands! My family and I had a great time in Blijdorp Zoo. It's centrally located in Rotterdam. Easily accessible. You will see a whole lot of unique wild animals. Very interesting. There are snackbars and restaurants if you're hungry! Have fun!
Beautiful zoo, the most beautiful I have seen in the Netherlands.
Really good zoo, but it really needs either a “adults only” day every month or so, or there needs to be more staff about, particularly in the aquarium. Overwhelmingly noisy in the aquarium with screaming children, despite the signs saying “keep the noise down for the animals welfare”. I had to tell one family off (mother and children) as the kids were banging on the glass of some iguanas and mum was just stood there. Really unpleasant start to an otherwise lovely zoo. I get that children should be allowed to go but there really is some bad behaviour that will be distressing the animals.
It remains a nice zoo! Lovely large enclosures and plenty to see the aquarium is totally fantastic and the penguins are definitely feeding take a look
A beautiful zoo worth a visit. Lots of vegetation, with oceaneum (glass tunnel). For me, one of the better zoos, but not absolute top. Easy to reach by public transport from the city (e.g. bus 33 from Centraal station). I used the RET app for Rotterdam public transport. If you've had enough of the city gearbox, this is the place.
We were shocked that after all these years the park looks so bad. Enclosures are much smaller for larger animals. The animals only run the same little circles (as many animals in too small enclosures in captivity do) every enclosure is not cleaned inside or outside there are millions spent on "new enclosures" is not to be seen. Real ghetto zoo very pathetic immediately felt guilty that we spent money on this and left. We're never coming back.
Great zoo! Nice variety of animals and was very walkable. The food we had was also very good. We spent about three hours there and did not even have time to see everything.
