We had a great tour with Jens. He took the time to give us a short introduction on Finnish history and constantly expanded on it at various stops of our tour. Along the way he also taught us a lot about Finnish culture and Helsinki's surprisingly modern architecture. I found the Finnish library culture especially fascinating and our visit to the Oodi Library is a definite highlight for me. Oodi is not just a traditional library, but also offers other services like computers, 3d-printers, sewing machines, band or meeting rooms to residents. Even without a tour it is definitely worth visiting. (don't take pictures of people) As we had our tour on a sunday, lots of people were visiting the library and we really got the see the living culture of libraries. On Jens' recommendation we also visited the National Library the following day, which is a much more traditional library and definitely worth a short visit for the architecture.

The tour hit most of the city’s highlights. It was a good orientation on what to see on our own. Walking paths taken will be challenging for older and/or disabled individuals.

Victoria was prompt and kept it moving so we could see a lot of things. She tailored it to my interests and we covered a lot of territory. I never would’ve seen the inside of most of these buildings if it hadn’t been for her knowledge of the city.
