Sachsenhausen fu il primo campo di concentramento appositamente costruito, creato come centro di terrore, persecuzione e brutalità sistematica. Inizialmente, imprigionava coloro che il regime nazista considerava razzialmente, socialmente o politicamente indesiderabili. Viaggia attraverso la città di Oranienburg e scopri come la comunità locale era collegata al campo. Prendi il treno dal nostro punto d'incontro vicino a S+U Friedrichstraße per Oranienburg. Oranienburg è la città dove è stato costruito l'ex campo di concentramento.
Vai con la nostra guida alla S-bahn di Oraninenburg. Passeggiate per la città e scoprite come erano complici i cittadini e vedete dove lavoravano i detenuti.
Ex campo di concentramento di Sachsenhausen. Arrivare all’ex Campo e passeggiare per gli interni del primo campo appositamente costruito per essere un campo di concentramento, non utilizzando strutture esistenti. Vedi le vecchie caserme, le celle di prigionia e le celle di tortura, la cucina del campo, la stazione Z (dove hanno avuto luogo esecuzioni di massa), la camera a gas e il crematorio. Vedrai anche le infermerie e il centro di patologia, così come la Torre A - la torre di guardia principale.

We had a fabulous day and our tour guide Paul from Insider Tours Berlin was amazing. He had everything timed perfectly and gave such knowledge and interesting information along the way. Overall train trip to see the concentration camp - keep in mind the timeframe ends up being 5 hours plus. Also, need to buy a train ticket in advance & note, must be an A/B/C ticket. Next can't assume public transport is going to be on time or worse in our case, cancel hence having to change to entirely different train and arrival location. Next, walk to / from camp from train station is another 20 minutes plus tour, a lot of walking.

Maria's knowledge was very good and the tour was very informative. It gives you a taste of what the camps are and the purposes of them. She was able to reference this camp to the others and explain the running of it in comparison to those.She was able to explain different parts of the camp and explained the use of certain items. On the way out and back into Berlin she pointed out some historical buildings and what they were for and referenced to films that were made there. Would highly recommend.

This was a thought-provoking, sensitively presented tour involving some dark aspects of history. The guide, Joseph, was excellent. I left knowing considerably more about this part of European and human history than when I arrived.

It was a somber experience, but one we felt it important to have. We were lucky enough to have Campbell as our guide; he was a true wealth of knowledge and gave us some perspectives on the situation - especially the German officers and workers at the camp - that really gave us a new way of thinking about that time. Mikhail was an incredibly thoughtful and knowledgeable tour leader. Our tour was on a very grey and drizzly day and Mikhail purchased umbrellas and lent them to people who was unprepared. A very thought provoking place to visit which was not always comfortable but Mikhail handled it with compassion whist imparting his knowledge to us. Would thoroughly recommend.
