Cantina Benazzoli is a small producer of wines in the northern Veneto, just outside Pastrengo and easily reachable from the A22. Their main specialties are Valpolicella and Bardolino, both of which are excellent. The cantina sits on their main vineyard property in the Bardolino DOC, although they also have a vineyard in the northernmost section of Valpolicella. Initially from Trentino Alto-Adige Claudia and sister Giulia took over the winery after the untimely death of their father. However, they have crafted the facility and their brand in their own images. "Made by women", they proudly advertise. And what a product they make! Claudia Benazzoli was kind enough to spend time with us for a tasting, a tour of the cantina and also time in the vineyards. Claudia is articulate and extremely informative, and this was a real experience. Highly recommended.
