I magnifici templi di Belur e Halebidu sono l'apice della singolare arte e architettura "Hoysala". I templi di Belur e Halebid offrono uno scorcio dell'arte del tempio indù nel suo glorioso meglio del XVI secolo. I templi sono famosi per le loro sculture e la splendida architettura. Gli Hoysala migliorarono sui precedenti mega imperi di Calukya che sono noti per la costruzione di templi estremamente decorati in molte parti del Karnataka, noti per le sculture nelle pareti, nei soffitti, nei pilastri curvi e molti altri. Prelievo al mattino presto dal tuo hotel a Bangalore e guida a Belur. Il Tempio Chennakeshava a Belur fu costruito per ordine di "Vishnuvadhana", lo stesso re Hoysala, per celebrare un'importante vittoria militare nel 1117 dC contro i Chola nella battaglia di Talakad. il re voleva un tempio straordinario ed è stato costruito in uno stile architettonico (stile Hoysala) che era nuovo per la regione. Il monumento è eccezionalmente grande e la sua decorazione è molto sontuosa. Le decorazioni per questo tempio continuarono ancora dopo il re dai suoi vari successori per un periodo di tempo di quasi 103 anni.
La città di Halebidu era allora conosciuta come Dwarasamudra (porta verso i mari). L'altezza dell'arte e dell'architettura di Hoysalan è ereditata nel tempio di Hoysaleshvara a Halebidu. Il tempio è dedicato a Lord Shiva. Anche di fronte al tempio è una grande statua di Nandi. Ci sono voluti più di ottanta anni per costruire parzialmente ed è stato lasciato incompleto. Il tempio è riccamente decorato con intagli più complessi. Le iscrizioni alle pareti includono un'esibizione infinita di divinità, umani, animali e immagini di guerra, caccia, musica e danza. Fascinating Heritage which can be explored in a day from Bangalore!. Comfortable pickup on time and then you are taken to the breathtaking temples of "Hoysala" era. The finely crafted temple pillars make you certainly wonder whether the temples are machine lathe cut!

My wife and I had an excellent experience working with Mr. Jai Singh. We were staying at a hotel not mentioned in his list of pick up sites, but Mr. Singh promptly responded to our request and had his driver pick us up at our hotel for a nominal charge. It's a pure historical place and paradise for art and sculpture loving people. Its the temple made by Hoyasala dinesty way back of more than one thousand years! Once Belur was their capital also. It is 20 km from Hassan city and 175 km from Bangalore. KSRTC bus services to cover all these places(including Sravanbelagola as Jain temple) are there in a day trip.
