Tiny Table Tours è stata fondata da un noto giornalista gastronomico locale, e queste relazioni sono al centro dei nostri tour. Condividiamo storie raccolte da interviste individuali con proprietari di aziende e chef che ti daranno una visione personale e dietro le quinte di South Philadelphia. Le nostre guide turistiche sono profondamente immerse nella scena gastronomica di Philadelphia, offrendoti un'esperienza profondamente personale. Il tour include sei bocconi di cibo, tra cui dolci, un panino vietnamita, tacos e altro ancora. Parleremo di (ma non mangeremo) cheesesteak e vi presenteremo le aziende familiari multigenerazionali. Condivideremo anche il nostro cheat sheet : una lista di consigli per bar, ristoranti e altre attività divertenti in città. Tutto sommato, cammineremo per circa 1 miglio nel corso di 2,5 ore, quindi per favore vieni preparato. Possiamo facilmente ospitare vegetariani e pescatori con preavviso. PER FAVORE fateci sapere se voi/qualcuno nel vostro gruppo ha restrizioni dietetiche di cui dovremmo essere a conoscenza.

Itinerario
Columbus Square Park è un luogo di ritrovo nel quartiere Passyunk a South Philly. Ci incontreremo e riuniremo il gruppo, poi visiteremo una panetteria, parleremo della storia nascosta dell'invenzione della bistecca di formaggio di Filadelfia, discuteremo della cultura dell'arte pubblica di Filadelfia e conosceremo una parte meno conosciuta di Filadelfia meridionale.
Un tempo sede di magazzini industriali, Washington Avenue è diventata una linea di demarcazione per la città e ospita alcuni dei nostri ristoranti preferiti in città. Visiteremo una leggendaria panetteria vietnamita e un ristorante messicano di lunga data con alcuni dei migliori tacos della città.
Uno dei mercati all'aperto più longevi degli Stati Uniti, dove la gente del posto fa ancora la spesa e molti ristoranti si riforniscono di ingredienti. Ascolterai le storie delle attività commerciali in questa zona e visiterai un panificio italiano di quarta generazione, un appetitoso negozio ebraico di nuova scuola e avrai un po' di tempo per fare acquisti al mercato. Concluderemo con un bicchiere di vino di una serie in edizione limitata di vino realizzato con il supporto di una delle aziende più antiche del mercato italiano.

The food tastings were good. There was a lot of walking from one spot to another with only one tasting that allowed you to sit down.
We felt there was too much walking in the heat and sun. We wanted more food and less walking and talking. We did want an intro to south Philly so we didn’t mind the talking, We just could have used less of it. We dropped out after two hours and went home.
Thanks so much for this feedback - we work hard to communicate how much walking will be involved in our tours. All in, it's about 1 1/4 miles, which we do say in the description. We're sorry that felt like too much for you - I know it can be hot in Philly, and we do our best to seek shade, offer cool drinks, and take breaks. Our guides are restaurant professionals with lots of stories and history that they share to give unique context to the food guests eat along the way. We feel strongly (and have received this feedback from our guests, Wall Street Journal, and many local publications) that it's those stories that set our tour apart. We're so sorry it wasn't to your liking, and we hope you enjoyed the rest of your afternoon.
We had a fantastic tour of South Philly food scene with Jackie. She was so great on the history of the area along with each place we stopped at. We loved each stop and also given some free time around the Italian Market. Jackie was so knowlegable about the history of the immigrants moving into the area from Italy and the Eastern European countries. and also how they came to the United States to make a differnce for themselves and start these new business. So many fmily business that have veen around for many generatios. I highly reccomend this food tour, especially if you are new to Philadelphia. Thank you Jackie

Jackie was our guide, and she was great! I had been on another South Phila. Food Tour, but this tour went to different places- we tasted Vietnamese food, Mexican food, Jewish specialties, wine, Mighty Bread, and even an Isgrow Canolli! Everything was delicious, and it was fun learning the history behind the Italian Market. I highly recommend it for a fun and delicious time!

This was one of my favorite tours I’ve ever done. Tour guide was super educational but also made the group feel cohesive. The food was delicious and I love that they gave out an additional guide to Philly restaurant at the end. The price felt very fair! Group was small, which I also liked.

Excellent tour, food sampling, and tour guide! Great background history of Philadelphia and the Italian market to provide context for the foods. Nice small group of people.
